Andrea Isom, why is she back on my telly?

Post by Lickalime » Fri Mar 15, 2019 5:42 pm

When I moved back to the mitten last year I was surprised to see Andrea Isom on the air again. I know using the words "on the air" are strong considering the fluffy sht she does.

How has no one told her her reporting style is dreadful? How does she stay employed? Does she work for free? Why is she still yelling at me?

You don’t like her? She’s great for fake news. The same for Fox 2’s Hillary Goldstein and Randy Wimbley, Fake news is happening and so are ratings.

She's good doing the restaurant beat, etc. Highly watchable. She's no Walter Cronkite, or expected to be.

Do they even call it a "telly" in England?

They did.
Not sure if it's still a thing though.

Uh, I think saying "she's no Walter Cronkite" is a bit much. I think it's more like "she's no Ron Burgandy"

The restaurant beat thing she does is awful and so far from informative.

I fail to see the appeal of anything she does. I instantly hit my mute button when she is on.

I don't know what is more irritating about those restaurant spots: her delivery or the fact that she has no idea what she's talking about. You could teach a parrot to say "priority violation" and be better informed. And for the love of God, why does she keep dropping her voice for the last 3 or 4 words of a sentence?

I guess it's especially bothersome to me as I've worked in the food safety field for a while now. Information without context can be worse than a lack of information.

Hm. I always thought that they just used that for the telephone. Shrugs.

I burst out laughing at this 🤣

At least she is not a general assignment reporter, on every day. Right?

Last time I saw her deliver a story was on Fox 2. Not sure how I’ve been lucky enough to avoid her this long. Probably cuz I rarely watch the jokal local news.

Hilary Golston has a similar style on Channel 2 but at least she smiles when she does it.
