Did Denny ever call? I only listened at the beginning

Denny was on for a good chunk of the 2nd hour, which Ron repeatedly confused as either the 5:00 or, worse yet, 4:00 hour. Right before he ended the call, Denny seemed genuinely mad at Ron's treatment of an older caller who, generally ignoring Ron, deigned to disagree with the host. Denny objected to Ron's treatment of the caller, saying something to the effect that this was no way to treat a guest. Ron countered that Denny, not the caller, was his guest.

Will it ever dawn on the insufferably cloying JJ ('you have the best show on radio, Mr. Cameron') that, fully accepting his premature hosannas ('only you, Ron Cameron, can get Glen Sather'), Ron ('Glen Sather doesn't do talk shows, only mine, because he has a special place in his heart for me'), didn't actually deliver on getting Sather?!

The first caller yesterday was talking about how some pitcher the Braves got from the Tigers was possibly demoted. Ron eventually found out he wasn't going to the minors but demoted from the closer and then "Always late" Matt chimed in that he didn't get sent to the minors and typical Ron goes off on Matt haha. The caller kept telling Ron to be nice to Matt and Ron of course ignored it. Man what a bitter person.

He needs other people to carry his show for him. What a joke.

JJ is such an ass kisser - calling him the almighty one and bowing down to him. He hasn't even come thru on the Sather thing and is just hoping people are dumb enough to forget. Boy did Kurt from Fraser ever piss Ron off, about Daniel Norris and how inconsistent he has been and Ron was arguing with Kurt that he wasn't , that was some funny stuff. Ron copped an attitude the rest of the show. Always good to have Denny on, I'm sure he feels some sense of loyalty to Ron since Ron helped him get started in the biz but I'm sure he thinks of Ron as somewhat of a clown and is embarassed by Ron's boorishness.

I’ve tried to be fair to Matt & give him some time to get his sea legs, but have come to realize that he’s a lost cause. He & Ron deserve each other. Maybe Alex will at least be back Labor Day weekend.

If the national show somehow doesn’t materialize, a reality show following Ron in his daily life would be ideal. I’d love to see what’s going on in his life that keeps him from doing a lick of show preparation. His sole idea of preparation is asking Matt to pull up the stats of a long-retired (would-be) guest. And he always has the same guest questions. Did you always want to be a pro in your sport, & what was your greatest thrill in your sport.

Ron did say he had a big meeting on Tuesday about his new restaurant location in the Commerce area. Who is opening up restaurants with him? What bank is loaning him money??

You’re right about how short-lived these dives are. Ron’s opened a number of restaurants - hardly smart investments - in the last several years, always with great hoopla attended by an “announcement.” Like clockwork, they all quickly fail and Ron’s has a scapegoat at the ready. Workers stealing from him. Jewish people in West Bloomfield refusing to dine without a coupon. Terrible location. That he picked.

Actually went into the one on Northwestern Hwy about 6 years ago and met Alex. He ran that location for Ron out of college. It was open about 6 months. Not an awful place, food was good. But Ron can't run them to save his life.

I'd love to know who would be dumb enough to go into a venture with him without checking his past failures

Today’s the day of Ron’s scheduled meeting. Oh, to be a fly on the wall among these titans of industry.

It'll be open in "a month" with pizza delivery and a sports theme throughout. Can't wait!
