Cowboy, perhaps Ron will sing you Happy Birthday on his show on Saturday? I listened to the show this past Sunday, it got real annoying with Ron trying to talk over Ted Kulfan all the time. Matt needs to grow a pair and tell Ron off, he continually puts the kid down all the time. The reason I listen at times is that it brings me back to my youth when I used to listen to the superfan on WXYT and used to watch him and Bob Page banter back and forth on Sportsview Today. There really wasn't much competition back then. It's truly a shame that Ron still will hold some stupid grudge to his grave about something Page said to him. I know many of Ron's longtime listeners would like to hear and reunion of sorts and see the band get back together from time to time. Oh well.....I'll just have to keep listening to the No Filter Podcast.

Despite our differences Happy Birthday Cowboy!

Mr. Transistor,I think Ron intentionally intimidates Matt, who seems like a nice young man,but perhaps not quite tough enough for the gig. And again, thanks for the early birthday wishes,Mr. Transistor !!!!

Ted is a great guest. Too bad Ron ruins his interview at certain points by undercutting him. Matt just doesn't bring anything to the show. What happened to Alex doing it weekly? Actually met him at one of Rons restaurants. Nice but fiery guy.

313sports,it's been clear for awhile that Alex deserves his own show, but fat chance of that happening at The Patriot !!!

Ron isn't a bad guy, just a limited one in terms of education ,which colours his sports and world view .

Putting EVERYTHING else aside for the moment, Cowboy, just considering how Ron treats Matt puts a lie to your absolution of him. He is most decidedly not a decent human being.

I don't think he's a bad guy as much as he is very stubborn and ornery. That comes across as rude and nasty, which shows alot.

I agree,313sports,plus Ron's jealousy of EVERYONE,including his boy Bob Page, who's more successful than he .

Ron’s alright ... except for his bullying behavior, habitual lying, pettiness, meanness, extreme narcissism, dimwittedness, failure to take personal responsibility, and the various cons he perpetrates on his handful of listeners. “Aside from that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?”

I'm waiting for him to suck up to Al Avila tomorrow.

That’s a sure thing, 313sports. At this point, the best thing about the Verlander trade is that, but for the deal, we in all likelihood would never have gotten Casey Mize in the draft. As you will recall, we tied in the standings with the Giants for the worst record in ‘17, but won the tiebreaker. With JV that last month of the season, it’s a good bet we would have won at least one more game, giving San Francisco Mize, the consensus top pick. So good on Avila for making that trade!

Another one of Ron’s cons - on his (would-be) sponsors and/or his audience - is all the future guests he claims to have lined up. For literally over a year, he promoted Bob Delaney, a former NBA referee who wrote a book about “putting away the mob.” He never materialized. And I’m still waiting on Jim Palmer’s promised appearance. And so many others who you just know when he mentions them that Ron is talking out of his ass.

I always wondered if Ron actually knows Jim Palmer,or if Palmer met Ron once and was turned off by Ron's sometimes crude behavior.

Claims he met him at an Orioles Tigers game when they were in town. Apparently he does color commentating for them. The guests that don't come on are never booked concrete, but a verbal yes and giving Ron their number (that he'll loose) gives him the green light to promote them as a future guest. They "never pick up" so in Ron's mind, he moves on and holds that grudge.
