How many times has Terry Fox been a guest? It’s pretty safe to say that no new ground will be covered in this “interview.” Were it not for his badly-read commercials - and, seriously, what rational person would patronize a business with the bad judgment to associate itself with this clown?! - Ron could just as easily air a repeat of a Fox previous appearance.

What a brutal first hour. Matt doesn't need to be on the air ever. Bring Alex back to go at it with Ron.

Nice how Ron intercepted Alex's question directed to Ted Kulfan. It would never occur to Ron that his listeners might be interested in his guest's opinions, not his regurgitated ones.

Today's show ended with Ron reading baseball scores with the music playing and not saying the show was over.. hilarious... feel bad for the producer.. We hat a train wreck.

Had to get the baseball scores in. Matt has to warn him it's too late in the show to do them and maybe not put them up. It was sad that his ego couldn't be checked in front of his guest and his well known opinion had to be stated again. Guests are supposed to be able to be asked a question right?

Because Avila deigns to talk to feed his fragile ego by talking to him, Ron, ever so predictable, has become a total shill for the organEYEzation - “as Sid would say.” In response to concerns that, with Franklin Perez, the centerpiece of the deal, once again on the IL, Avila may have been hosed in the Verlander trade, he lamely says that the Tigers wouldn’t be winning even if JV were still on the team.

I have a question to the readers of this thread, if you think Ron is such a buffon why do you listen to his show?

Really there's 2 reasons: Every so often there's an interesting guest that makes that hour decent. Also I like hearing peoples opinions and debating them if I think they are off base. He's off base enough and fiery enough to fight his point so it's entertaining.

Me? I’ve long been fascinated by con men. Throw in Ron’s staggering narcissism and I’m hooked.

Con man might be a stretch because I think he cons himself 9/10.

The years-long fiction of the “insurance company” callers - along with the back story Ron assiduously employed for them - certainly qualified as a con. As did, for a time, the use of a younger Alex as a phony caller. Sometime they would try to make it appear that Alex was actually calling from parts unknown; other times, they didn’t even bother with the pretense as it was clear “caller Alex” was speaking to him in person. I remember once this use of Alex engendering a sort of nervous, complicit laughter from then-in-studio guest Mark Wilson.

Considering he's been apart of the show for awhile now that must've been a long time ago, but still wild to think that he would make up Alex as a caller and he was there already

Also speaking of Ron and Alex, what would happen if Ron couldnt do the show? Would he ever let Alex do it or is Ron that stubborn?

As befitting a wholly hollow, ungenerous person, Ron would only let Alex sit in for him if his palm was greased.
