Kinda reminds me of when my Dad told me about a Tigers player that managed the sporting goods department at Montgomery Ward during his off-season!!!Bobbert wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 10:00 amThat's pretty harsh. I find them very interesting, with a lot historical value. Maybe because I just turned 60. It's especially nice to hear how they made lives for themselves after their playing days, when they didn't make the kind of money that they make today.

Discussion pertaining to Detroit, Ann Arbor, Port Huron, and SW Ontario
Point taken, Bobbert, but note that I included the word “recycling” in my indictment. So often, as was the case of Ron’s recent, repeat “interview” of 90-year old Hal Naragon, Ron would just rerun his previous interview with the guest as no new ground is tread. The guest, instead, is used as an opportunity for Ron to both repeat the same stories he’s told ad nauseam, and as a vehicle to rail as his won’t against today’s sports and athletes. And it’s no personal attack on these aged, repeat guests to note that the ravages of time, which will afflict all of those fortunate enough to reach soft lofty years, takes a toll on our hearing and memory, making less than scintillating radio.
Mono, since I'll be 66 July 6,I enjoy Ron's interviews with most of these codgers, though ninety-one-year-old Tom Lasorda had the beginning of dementia the first time he spoke to Ron,though strangely, his second interview was good, and Frank Tanana, who's three days older than I, should have stuck entirely to baseball, as the rest of his appearance proved that he's a babbling religious fanatic .
If one is looking for any more evidence of what a nonentity this blowhard is, I remember his response to the passing of former Pistons coach, Flip Saunders. Ron, who sits on press row, said he had never met him! How is that even possible?!
313sports, Ron also passed on an unattributed report on the state of Dan Gilbert’s current health. It wouldn’t shock me, of course, if he pulled that out of his ass, which, if the case, makes it an especially reprehensible thing to say.
