Ron would have to do some upgrading for his national show. Maybe hire the ‘boom goes the dynamite’ guy to do the scoreboard segment. Cowboy could do his thing with this date in history. And stuttering John can offer his incisive political commentary. Let’s make it happen!

Let Matt produce it for entertainment value and make Alex a co host to debate Ron like he does and you have a national ratings juggernaut!

It surely would be a niche, but not numerically insignificant, audience if Ron's national show targeted the low information listeners with no internet access. Ron would be aces with this population. With our programming ideas and a marketing campaign, we're ready to launch.

Call it Sports Warp. Like a time warp for sports when the players actually knew how to play the game(as Ron says).

lol. I like your Sports Wrap anagram. It’s such a fitting title for Ron’s show.

I wonder how Ron would react to all his many fans here. Would he seethe at all the people laughing at him (apparently a common occurrence since he brings it up all the time) or, with good humor, breezily take it all in stride?

This "show" would certainly be unique and one the national audience would not have heard before. He could tout his upcoming guests and then give some BS excuses why they did not "show". That would probably get some laughs because it truly is laughable now. I used to feel bad for Matt being like the bullied employee but many times Matt does not help himself, many times bungling the internet look ups. He's worked with Ron long enough now he should be a little more proactive and he is so monotone when he reads emails and whatnot. It's like every show is his first rodeo. Anyways, this thread is good for some laughs. I did listen to Sunday's show but missed out on Saturday's. Oh well.

How and when did it get this bad? Used to be tolerable and now even with a decent guest that actually shows it's a tough listen.

313sports, I never remember the show not being bad. Certainly less bad when Alex or Mark Wilson is present to push back at Ron's idiocy ("I would have traded Justin Verlander straight up for Jake Rogers"), but always a trainwreck when the elephant in the person of Ron is in the room.

Re: the much hyped and anticipated national show, I forgot to add the seeming thousands of workers at the "insurance company" to Ron's niche, but devoted, audience.

I guess that's true as they slightly masked some of the deficiencies of the show. Ron's shtick is old and bitter sounding. Let's get fresher takes.

No need to beat yourself up, Mr. Transistor. Here, in glorious living color, and destined to be nominated for a Peabody, are hours 1 and 2 of last Saturday's show:

Thanks Momo, at least I can fast forward thru the painful parts of the show- which may be the whole show... :rollin
In my opinion the show got real painful when Alex left as full time producer and when Ron does not have a "good" guest. Matt is absolutely terrible, I thought he was some young intern... apparently not.
I'll give it a listen when I'm done catching up on this week's No Filter podcast with Eli, Denny, and Ron's former buddy Bob Page.

You’re welcome, Mr. Transistor. I should do an archives dive to figure out when Denny was last on the show. I know he’s been on since he began the podcast, but it seems to me that his appearances have diminished post-podcast.

Today is the day! The best show on radio is live from 5-7.

I can't wait for the "scoreboard" portion of the show. Like it's 1989 and you listen to WWJ at 15 and 45 past the hour for the sports scores.
