He is a good writer, but if you've ever heard him in person, you know he's a jerk.Mr.Transistor wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 11:20 amFenech is actually a pretty decent writer but he is a shit stirrer and he's kind of a turd. He's not well liked by many of the players and co workers.

Ron Cameron

Re: Ron Cameron
I listened to Martin's preceding oldies show for about 15 minutes before Ron came on. Martin didn't say anything about the Cameron show, and just hyped his own shows.Mr.Transistor wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 11:13 amI heard a recorded female voice do the station ID at the top of the hour. Can't tell if Martin is there, I am betting he is but keeping his mouth shut, no technical difficulties so I am bet he is. Ron sounds like he's in a fantastic mood like he took his meds today or something. Why does this Mark always entertain Ron with restaurant questions? Ron has been stringing everyone along on this for years.
This looks like his LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/djmartin/ Not exactly a major player in Detroit media circles, but he's got enough going for himself that he doesn't need to suck up to Ron Cameron.
Re: Ron Cameron
Tomorrow’s the 25th anniversary of Cal Ripken, Jr., eclipsing Lou Gehrig’s Ironman record. Someone needs to get Ron going on this subject.

Re: Ron Cameron
I'll be out and about today so I'll probably only be able to catch a few bits and pieces today. If someone wants to get Ron going tell him how bad the strike zone has been with many of the umps this season and they are making a strong case for Robo Umps. That ought to light a flare under his ass. Yes, I don't know what keeps Ron so "busy". We know it's not prepping for the show and not catching the weekly sports highlights either. Maybe it's just ideas in his head to keep the callers asking questions about the impending restaurant purchase. I'll be checking later to see you fellas have any juicy highlights of the show today. Thanks!

Re: Ron Cameron
He took the bait on Cal Ripken. Thanks to whoever sent it
Re: Ron Cameron
Gutterball Tony’s dead?! Anything’s possible, but he was a fairly young man. And how would Ron know?! He’d rather say that someone is dead than that he no longer calls.
And King Felix, born in April 1986, is not 50!
Yay, emailer Daniel!! After stumbling, he at least landed on the right actor involved in this fake news story. One of these days he’s going to be so confused over his Ripken, Jr. story that the actor will be Max Baer, Jr.

Martin is on. He sounds pretty miserable
Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, he sounds like he has a gun to his head.
Re: Ron Cameron
Another emailer from the Board, taking the bait this time on the robo-umpire question!
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron hasn't mentioned him, yet, but does anyone else think that Ron might be overstating his relationship with Cory Lidle just a tad bit? When Terry Collins managed the Mets, Ron, always seeking to bask in another’s reflected glory, would constantly talk about what great friends they were from back in the day when Ron umpired Collins’s minor league games. And how he would surely be on his show but for a contractual obligation to appear as a guest only on the Mets’s flagship station. Once, though, Ron let his guard down, revealing the true state of their relationship, when, referring to Collins, he said, “He’d know who I was.” Funny how now, after Collins left the Mets & any of his once contractual obligations having lapsed, he still has never been a guest on his great friend’s show. Since we're making requests now, maybe someone can ask Ron about getting Collins on his show.

Re: Ron Cameron
What kind of ridiculous question is Beth asking?
Re: Ron Cameron
Beth is clearly not a Board denizen, because that was not a requested question.
Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, Ron’s big with the female demographic.
