Entercom Detroit's Debbie Kenyon and Tim Roberts should be ashamed of themselves for eliminating local talent and local programming from their airwaves. They are corporate ass-kissers! 106.7 Detroit's Wheels will continue to be on my #1 preset. Bye-Bye, Entercom!

In response to Radiofan1974: for an FM station in the Detroit market that is a for-profit operation - this will be the second such instance of which I'm aware.

The other is the former Praise 102.7, now found on a multitude of low power translator signals as The Detroit Praise Network.

Even the parade of failed formats at 106.7 FM through the years always had at least one locally based personality, if I'm not mistaken (not 100% certain about 106.7 The Fox toward the end of its Country music run).

IIRC, when Z-Rock first started on 102.7, I don’t think they had any local personalities. I believe that quickly changed in mornings though. God, that’s been 30 years...

Mad Maxx Hammer sounds familiar as a jock we heard in Detroit and he was national. They did all the features like "Back Rockwards", too. But yes, we did transition to local here after a while.

I think I still have an original Z-Rock sticker from when they started up.

Thanks for the info, I guess it’s a sign of the times but not having local in studio staff for me loses that “local radio” feel
