As for Devin..

A) why would he sully his reputation and long run, by ending his career in that dumpster fire.

B) they cant afford him. He is likely making in the 500-800K range. The main job at 62 likely pays in the 200-250 range. Stations are cutting salaries.. not looking to bring on bloated talent. Look at 7. They keep promoting from within to save money, as opposed to paying for a top-flight out of town anchor.

The only problem with 7’s strategy is they essentially keep their anchor pool very thin as they keep losing people and they are starting to run out of viable people to promote to anchor of one of the major newscasts. At some point they have to pony up the money. And yeah if he takes a buyout he’ll go write songs or something.
Donald Trump… In your guts you know he’s nuts.

Sadly, I cannot disagree. I think your points are all valid.

I like the CBS Detroit station. I miss Ronnie Duncan as he is very personable and did a great job.

Every new station that opens has its growing pains. It takes time to find your footing and make an impact on viewers.

I understand what folks have written above but there are others like myself that enjoy the people that present the news and work hard every day for the viewers.

It is watchable and all y'all elders just don't like change. Simple as that. Y'all probably loved Bernie and watched him every day for 40 years, talking about sports for 60 seconds, then showing some old Weekend at Bernie's (an ancient '80s reference) video that was viral 2 years earlier.

Why are 62's weathercasters now using a dinky monitor to present the weather? Nearly half my TV screen now shows a wall or bezel as opposed to weather graphics.

It looks goofy. Is this an idea by the new ND, or is this a temporary thing?

Personally, I think CBS News Detroit has vastly improved since Lyons took over. The pacing is much better, the quality of stories is better, and the overall presentation is much better.

While I do think the overall talent needs improvement, I think anchors like Friday, Humphries, and Ali all need to be used more, especially in the community. They are highly talented and needs to be exposed to the community a lot more.

Furthermore, I think it’s highly unethical as well as unprofessional for anyone to be slamming their workplace, especially on a public message board. It’s very disrespectful and distasteful. Additionally, it’s unprofessional for anyone to be discussing private work matters publicly. It’s divisive and truthfully, very sickening!! We are way better than this!!

Looks like the 9am show is getting the ax to make room for CBS Mornings Plus.
