I wondered if Wayne Gretzky really played at Olympia (like Alison of Allen Park said), and it looks like he did.

His first NHL season was 1979-80, and Gretzky played at Olympia on 11-7-79, about a month before the last Red Wings game at Olympia (12-15-79).
