Somehow, I don't see Ron as the stoic type.

With a legend like Ron possibly taking next week off for surgery, you would think lines would be jammed.

Is that our Willie asking about the Catholic League?
And once again, Ron lies about his involvement:

I wondered about his facts on that also. I remember back in 1968 a buddy of mine played baseball for Our Lady of Sorrows and I know they were using the 3/2 method then.

I also scoffed at his taking credit for the change. It was not his idea to make the change. He only voted for the change, if true. Since three others voted in favor of the change, he should only get 1/4 credit. And this blowhard narcissist pats himself on the back for saving Catholic League Baseball. Were they going to drop the sport if he voted no? Jesus Christ, I didn't see public schools discontinue their programs after not changing to 3/2. Just exactly how did he save it?

In Ron's mind, he's saved all sports, including horseshoes, ping pong, and five pin bowling.

So are we saying that Ron's Tiger game encounter with the appreciative Catholic League fan never happened?! Same with the "fans" who approached him on the street to commend him for his Jim Kaat interview?

If he ever gets around to writing his book, it'll be the only memoir to make the best-selling fiction list.

If anything happened, there was a vote to continue it in the early 1970s, and Ron was involved. He keeps talking about Frank Tanana, who pitched at Catholic Central in the early 1970s (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Tanana#Early_life). But to take full credit for starting it, he's way off base.

It's ironic—this thread might hit 1 million views while Ron is taking a sick leave.

One year later, only two of those advertisers remain.

Did Ron see the cardiologist?

Thanks, Bobbert. You’ve given us ample broadcasts to listen to during Ron’s (possible) absence.

I also played at Our Lady of Sorrows but in 1960 and I think we had the 3/2 count back then and also during the summer of DABF play

Surprised the 5 and 6 o’clock news didn’t carry this as their top story, but then again nobody wants to work.
