Whatever happened to Denny's bone of contention? The reason Ron said he wanted to be on today to talk about? If Denny brought it up, I somehow missed it. It's more likely Ron, the only one who has the guts to tell it like it is, was telling it like it isn't.

Re: Ron Cameron
Maybe it was Denny's contention that if he had three hours with the Tiger pitchers he could turn them all into Cy Young winners.
Re: Ron Cameron
Kurt (the Hurt) asking a shift question (at 9:03), but not one about the draft.

Re: Ron Cameron
I thought this was a more subdued Denny, Ron would try to get the Tiger hate going, and Denny was not going there. Perhaps his recent gathering with teammates at comerica park, Denny saw a chance to be more engaged with the tigers?
Re: Ron Cameron
I agree. Ron gave him a big opening to rip into Cabrera. But all Denny said was that he was glad that they were honoring a great Detroit Tiger.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 6:19 amI thought this was a more subdued Denny, Ron would try to get the Tiger hate going, and Denny was not going there. Re: Ron Cameron
The Tigers must have been listening to Denny's advice about Spencer Torkelson not focusing on home runs, and the organization committing to a plan.
Yesterday, Torkelson went 2-4, with a single, double, and 2 RBI's.
The Tigers have apparently committed two of their top minor leaguers to positions—Jace Jung at third base and Colt Keith at second base. (Paywall protected) https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sport ... 953744007/

Ron & Jim Harbaugh in happier times.

Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks for the link. When I opened it up in YouTube, the suggested videos on the right side included an SVT interview of Jim Price by his two biggest fans—Ron Cameron and Denny McLain.Momo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 11:02 amRon & Jim Harbaugh in happier times.

Wow. Loved seeing the old ad for Ed's Sports around the 10:15 mark. Ed is still around and has been running senior hockey leagues in the Plymouth area for years. Played in many of them. As Ron would say...........a Good Man.Momo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 11:02 amRon & Jim Harbaugh in happier times.

Re: Ron Cameron
Also, did you pick up on Ron.......
1. Ron pumping up Michigan's tough schedule that year over Miami. Apparently, that's when they had guts. Page had to explain to Ron that schedules are made years in advance.
2. Ron chiding Harbaugh for not opening his mouth earlier in the year. If he did he would have won the Heisman. Again, no guts.

What a gem this video, in happier times and when U-M had guts and did not owe Scoop 10 dinners. Again, to repeat Ron is no homerDan in Northville wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 12:03 pmWow. YES

Now Ron makes fun of how Harbaugh talks and cheers against U-M, again Ron is no homer.
RIP to #67 John Vitale who appears in the video.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron should be very happy with the Big Ten Power Rankings in the Detroit News this week. Ohio State jumped over Michigan to Number 1, thanks to its cupcake-free victory over Notre Dame.
Re: Ron Cameron
I don’t think Colt Keith’s future is second base. Since third is not an option (at least for long term), he’ll likely end up at a corner outfield spot or DH a few years from now. His defense is a work in progress.
Of course, Ron once said to leave prospects in the minors until they turn 26 or 27.
