The only other NBC affiliate in the Graham family is WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia -- don't know if they carried the game or axed it for infomercials like the others.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Isn't it one game out of 18, with the next 17 only available on Peacock? You can bet that the game would be loaded with ads for Peacock, which I am sure WDIV said "nah bro, you promote that on our agreed upon times".CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 2:48 pmLike I said, NBC is not nearly as tolerant as they were 40 years ago, and definitely not like they were in the 2000s. They are taking a page out of Fox’s playbook. We know how Fox has put the clamps down on their affiliates.SolidGoldDancers wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 12:29 pmI suspect Graham Media is messaging that they're not going to tolerate paying to be an affiliate while NBC makes moves to putting preferential content or the exact same content on Peacock. Being an affiliate is, after all, buying market exclusivity and Peacock upends that.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:28 pmLooks like NBCU is going to have a really stern talk with both stations in Detroit and in Houston. NBC isn’t nearly as tolerant as they were 40 years ago.
Wouldn’t be shocked if eventually, NBC do to WDIV like they did with WHDH about 5 years ago. WDIV imo, are in clear delusion.
Yeah, WDIV needs to retain being an NBC affiliate, but NBC certainly is acting pretty slimy in this case.

Never heard this deal go down. Interesting.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

They don't own DIV. The station is responsible for what goes on the air - not the network. NBC has no leverage here. NBC can always put any preempted shows on another station (if one will take them). NBC can try to find another affiliate (or a station to buy). Even somebody would be willing to sell a UHF station, NBC would be in a much weaker position on a new affiliate.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:28 pmLooks like NBCU is going to have a really stern talk with both stations in Detroit and in Houston. This isn’t the 1980s anymore. NBCU has way more leverage now, because they are owned by Comcast. In addition, those UHF signals don’t matter anymore, because everything is digital. It’s an even playing field, now. WDIV isn’t WGN. That is fact. It sounds like Local 4 is not only living in the past, they are not even realistic. If NBC drops WDIV, DIV loses millions. WDIV isn’t even WHDH.
More proof of the station’s arrogance and inability to face reality.
DIV played these games before and nearly had disaster.

Re: WDIV Local 4 preempting MLB on NBC this Sunday
Quick side note: I noticed NBC moved all of their coverage of this weekend's Detroit Grand Prix to Peacock and USA, so WDIV won't be able to show any of it live. In recent years, NBC Universal had both days of races on their main NBC network.
