I pulled it back from deleted programs on my DVR. She did not say "today." Yes, the numbers were from Friday.
"But first here's a look at what happened on Wall Street. The DOW dropped 232 points, NASDAQ lost 168 points, and the S&P 500 is down 31 points. We'll be right back."

Thanks for looking into it.
In my opinion, hardly anyone would interpret those remarks as meaning results from a trading session that occurred the prior Friday. That copy was poorly written. The first phrase out of her mouth should've been: "the major stock exchanges were closed today..."

And tonight, during a segment on repairing bridges in the state, they posted up a graphic that said Michigan is getting 561 BILLION dollars as part of the new infrastructure package.
Um, I think that was supposed to be 561 MILLION dollars.
Just off by a bit, I'd say!!

Maybe not fake news but a “sin” of omission.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Errors that make it to air or print = fake news.
It may be an inadvertent mistake, but it's still fake news nonetheless.
Back in the day, news outlets used to issue corrections for their errors. These days, they don't seem to care.

Pretty much. Even major news outlets after getting something wrong will either bury the correction so deep nobody will know or they simply say "meh" and move on like it never happened. I'm looking at you CNN and NYT.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 6:04 amErrors that make it to air or print = fake news.

Used to be seasoned pros would check and recheck for errors and accuracy. Producers and editors had the manpower to make sure errors were minimized. Hiring practices today seem to fill critical positions with warm bodies, and not always the best qualified. Because it is cheaper.
Cost cutting has consequences.

FOX News, MSNBC, Newsmax, CBSN, ABC, ABC News Live (really recorded like all streaming "news" outlets and all CBS Newscasts and services- notice breaths edited out coming out of pacakages), OAN, NPR.... you forgot a few. It's not just 1 side of the aisle coverage, like one makes it look.dial-it-in wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 6:43 amPretty much. Same argument on who lies, as they all do from time to time.

Not every on-air mistake is fake news and not every on-air mistake warrants a correction.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 6:04 amErrors that make it to air or print = fake news.
