Watched SNL last night for the first time in many years. I sat patiently all the way through it and never once saw or heard anything that was even remotely funny.

It's supposed to be performed before a live audience but I don't even believe that. The laughter was too abrupt in starting and stopping, like someone turning a switch on and off

It hasn't been funny in 30 years or more. It's all one sided, to the Left, and for the last six years, a Hate Trump Agenda.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is why Greg Gutfeld is beating the other so called comedy variety shows during the week. The hosts and their guests can't stop themselves.

I didn't see it as one sided, right or left. It was just plain boring.

It's definitely biased, no question about it. But even overlooking that, much of it is just unfunny. I didn't see yesterday's but it sounds like I didn't miss much there either.

This is the first I had seen it in about 20 years. It used to be funny. I don't even recognize the names of any of the cast members anymore.

I didn't see any bias. Not even any point of view. Just a lot of nothing.

I liked Halsey's duet with Lindsay Buckingham. She even kind of dressed like Stevie Nicks, (though I don't recall Stevie Nicks wearing a heart shaped dressed, not even in the 80's.)

The song is called "Darling" (almost similar to the 1975 song "Landslide").

The Weekend Update is the only part of the show that's close to funny, and that's mainly because Michael Che and Colin Jost are always taking snipes at each other. 70% of the music is crap now too, but then you get 30% decent, like an appearance by Lindsay Buckingham, or Jack White, or a totally naked performer with only her guitar?

I agree, but I also disagree. They are indeed as political as they've always been. I just don't think it is as funny as it once was. Too much of a far left bias now. Too "woke" now.

They refused to spoof Nancy Pelosi tearing up Donald Trump's SOTU address.

That's all I need to know about where the bias lies.

Not true. Kate McKinnon did it. Seen it.

But I do agree that SNL suffers from a common problem. Like many shows that get stale. They'll try replacing the actors. They'll try adding more actors. They'll try changing time slots Everything but pink slip the current writers, and get new. What a concept.

Didn't happen. And there's a thread in here somewhere about how it didn't happen. And I remember even reading some news articles about how it didn't happen and how some past cast members were surprised as they thought that was the biggest story of the week worthy of spoofing.

SNL suffers from poor writing. That has been the case for 15 years.
