Timeless (again)

Actually Timeless was cancelled last year. They got to make a movie that aired last November which wrapped the series up.

I see the Passage was also cancelled. Mark Paul Gosselaar, (Zak Morris) seems to be on a lot of unsuccessful shows, (Hyperion Point, Pitch, Raising The Bar.)

That’s probably half the network shows which is proving something here that over-the- air networks are dying ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW, So the question is where will these 5 networks be in 10 years, My bet is that they will be gone from broadcast television and these are the guys that want ATSC 3.0 real bad, Again my thoughts on ATSC 3.0 is it’s not going to be a success.

These lists are seldom accurate, based on past experience.

Over-exaggeration, these aren't even half of the currently-running network shows as of before these cancellations.

Anxious for any news about the new NBC comedy called "Abby's." Really gotten into it lately and hope it continues.

I'm not sure if Abby's is coming back but The Good Place is returning for season four.

The Simpsons will around for season 31 and 32. Tonight was it's season finale, (Blow up the bridge.)

The Big Bang Theory ends on Thursday, but that really should get its own thread.

No over-exaggeration, Wait and see how many new shows the networks will offer maybe 3 or 4 per network, Again network television is dying, It’s a slow death but in 10 years it’s gone. Everything is on-demand that’s now and the future of television, No one wants to be glued to their televisions at 7 on Sunday Evening to watch 60 minutes we want to watch at our convenience. On Demand TV is where it’s at.

I tend to agree with Chuck, I'm always watching my Roku and Hulu.

Is that why half the country has a panic attack when YouTube goes down for 10 minutes?

There are hundreds of services besides YouTube, I never experienced any down time with any of my services. I have more problems with over-the-air television especially on windy days and when vehicles go past my house the picture freezes and pixelates if I fart in my living room the picture freezes on over-the-air television, So Internet television is where it at.

I rarely have those problems with a rooftop antenna, although I understand there are folks who are not in a position where they can have one due to living in an apartment or other considerations.

I also have a Roku, and it certainly has its advantages, but I can't see paying $5/month for CBS when I can pick up three OTA affiliates for free. Most of the other networks are free to stream but require a cable or sat subscription to bypass the one-week delay on streaming content (The CW being the exception - content is available the day after air). I do subscribe to Philo for some cable content as they are the least expensive service out there and I don't really need any sports channels. I also subscribe to Amazon Prime, but that's the extent of my TV expenditure.

We have DSL through a local company that has provided exemplary customer services and not raised our rates in 12 years. Average speeds are 3-5Mbps. Sometimes tough to stream with two kids watching YouTube on their devices, although normally not a problem. I could get faster service through Charter, but I refuse to do business with them (that's another story).

Overall, digital OTA gives me about 60 channels with a variety of content (although I spend most of my time watching MeTV, Antenna and Cozi). Streaming gives me access to the more obscure content I enjoy (like the Old School Social Studies Films channel - love them old Driver's Ed flicks). :razz

I see streaming as a complement to OTA, not a replacement.

Just heard on a radio newscast that Disney/ABC has cancelled their syndicated daytime version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" While Chris Harrison did a nice job hosting that show, I don't feel too bad for him, as he seems to be quite busy with other ABC shows.

AP Bio is the latest show to be cancelled, though fans are trying to stop this cancellation on Twitter.
