Not just that, but most of the daytime figures from the 80s, 90s, and even early 2000s, have either retired, died, or had their shows canceled or ended for the past few years now. This is an enormous loss with Pat's retirement. Who knows if Vanna retires with him? Hopefully they don't mess up the hosting search like they did with Jeopardy!
Re: Pat Sajak retiring
And the rumor is that Ryan Seacrest is being considered to replace Sajak.
If that’s the case, I’m done watching it. Out of the blue during tonight’s show, my wife said the same thing

Who else even remains active? The only other figure I can think of who remains active now is not a host, but rather is still the announcer of Jeopardy, Johnny Gilbert.radioandtventhusiast wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:11 pmNot just that, but most of the daytime figures from the 80s, 90s, and even early 2000s, have either retired, died, or had their shows canceled or ended for the past few years now.

Mr. Gilbert still does a solid job, too, at 94 years of age!
Seacrest is enough to gag me.And the rumor is that Ryan Seacrest is being considered to replace Sajak.

Johnny doesn't even sound 94. He doesn't look it. He's very youthful and his voice is strong as it was when the current version of Jeopardy! debuted in 1984.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 7:26 pmMr. Gilbert still does a solid job, too, at 94 years of age!

I don't get the appeal of Seacrest. Others who do or did so much TV work like Dick Clark, Steve Harvey and Michael Strahan have charm and personality. Seacrest has always seemed bland to me.

It looks like it is official. Seacrest got the gig.radioandtventhusiast wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 9:59 pmJohnny doesn't even sound 94. He doesn't look it. Yep, Seacrest is the new host. My guess is that Sony didn't want the drama with handling Jeopardy! post-Alex in 2020 and 2021.
Re: Pat Sajak retiring
Seacrest has always been an obnoxious pretty boy. I haven’t watched much of the show in years, and him hosting means I will never watch.

Seacrest = poster child for bad botox.
Will he speak in his pukey bubble gum pop music DJ voice while hosting?

I just may agree. Can't see myself really wanting to watch him every night.
Maybe the folks over at Channel 7 should forgo a repeat of the news. Spend some money on a good syndication that would have a chance against Wheel. If enough people feel like you and me, there may be an opportunity.

Who will replace Vanna when she retires? Will they be able to get along with Ryan?

How about the lovely Maggie Sajak? She makes a promotional appearance on every show.

It would not surprise me. I believe Pat is staying on for two more years as a consultant with the show, he can pull some strings.moldyoldie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 7:26 pmHow about the lovely Maggie Sajak? She makes a promotional appearance on every show.
