In DC, falsely pulling a fire alarm is considered a misdemeanor.

In a statement to The Hill, a spokesperson for Bowman said, “Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote,” adding, “The congressman regrets any confusion.”

Speaking to reporters, Bowman said, “I thought the alarm would open the door.”

He should be punished the same way you or I would for doing that.

Half of Congress would be gone if this were the normal. Do you honestly think this is worse than defending a gang of assholes who stormed the Capitol?

I never said that this was worse. Im just saying that he should be given the same punishment as we would if we pulled that same fire alarm. After all, “no one is above the law”, right?
