So everyone here was cool with 5000 Afghans on the street a few years ago? And please remember, Whalan's been in a Russian jail since 2018 when we had a different president. One that was so petulant he did nothing to help the new administration get up to speed. Or have we forgotten that already.

Yeah okay junior. We trade a pot smoking basketball player for an international arms dealer that was supplying rogue operators out to kill americans. Not only that, he knows where major caches of weapons are throughout the world. Did it ever occur to you the reason Russia wants him so bad is so they can rearm to continue the war in Ukraine?

I'm pretty sure that someone without their head up their ass could have got both of them for a high profile Target such as that.
Thank god you have all the answers… how could people who know what they are doing be so naive as to not ask you?
Finally you say something that makes sense.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

There's a case that could be made that Bout was a perfect prisoner to be traded. He's been in prison for 14 years and was scheduled for release in just a few years regardless. I don't think it's a stretch to believe his network has dissolved, he's no longer wealthy and his family has left him. He well might be living off his "Merchant of Death" moniker without currently anything to back it up. Branding is a powerful thing until it's not. There's no reason to believe he has the wherewithal to pick up where he left off. He is less valuable for a prisoner exchange by the day.

There's a lot of reasons the trade shouldn't have been made but thinking Bout represents an imminent threat ain't one of 'em.

One less mouth to feed in US prison.

True. Where was this talk from 2018-2020 under TFG? Trump was too busy pardoning King Kwame.

According to the link below, he was 11 years into a 25 year sentence. Article says Pentagon officials are concerned that Bout will now return to illegally trafficking arms.

"There is little doubt that Bout is a top prize for Russian officials" and they "wanted him home badly" claims the Washington Post.

How can a nation be so angry about one of its citizens being freed from captivity? Shouldn't it be a cause for celebration?
You can't believe how much a Strong, Gay, Black, Woman can frighten these old white men. I'm rather enjoying it.

She even uses legal substances, oh my gawd!

I agree with audiophile; bad deal indeed.

No American civilian should travel to Russia under any circumstance, in my opinion.

That hasn't always been the case.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Am I the only one who is just a little skeptical about the state department's story that Griner is being housed at a military medical facility in Texas solely for treatment / mental health review purposes?

I cannot help but wonder if U.S. officials are hoping to gather intel regarding Russia's treatment of incarcerated U.S. citizens.

Interesting read. I'm sure some of our radical left members will discard it solely because it came out of John Bolton's mouth.
I can't help but wonder why we couldn't get a 2 for 1 swap if Russia wanted that arms dealer back bad enough.
