I'm a liberal and a Californian, and I didn't vote for Newsom for governor. He would be an abject disaster.

As an independent my pick is Tulsi Gabbard .
I'd vote for her 3 times. Once with my own vote and twice with the votes of the people I bought my house from in 1994 who still get applications for absentee ballots twice a year at my address.
Fraudulent Votes for Gabbard. Has a nice ring to it. Or maybe Felons for Tulsi (because, I do think in most states, that IS a felony. Can DOJ request your IP address from MW?)

Don't know much about her, other than watching some of her rants on Truth Social. Not my cup of tea.

Just to recap some of Gabbard's positions as I mentioned in here not all that long ago:

-pro-choice (including supporting federal funding for abortion),
-pro-legalization of pretty much all drugs,
-pro-free community college for all,
-pro-Green New Deal
-supports very strict gun control including banning all common rifles
-Pro single-payer for healthcare
-In favor of legalizing prostitution

Maybe the DOJ should ask the city clerk why people who left the state 28 years ago are still registered to vote.

Even if the door is open and the alarm is off, it's still illegal to steal from your neighbor. But you do you, and continue to show how "law and order" your side is.. In fact why haven't YOU called the city clerk and asked the same question?

But more importantly, this shows the lacking of a national election system. I moved from that god forsaken not to be named state to Ohio a number of years ago. Getting my DL, I was registered to vote. But it still shows even today that I am still registered to vote at my previous address. There is no process anywhere to "unregister". Just like my previous state DL, which remained valid until it expired.

Tulsi sides with Russia and is a Q Anon sympathizer. Otherwise, I would consider her. She is an election denier as well. She has decided to go right, so I doubt many of those former positions hold true.

I would love to see Chris Sununu, governor of New Hampshire, run.

He is relatively young, doesn't engage in polarizing rhetoric and is charismatic.

I think a ticket of Sununu / Ben Sasse would be outstanding. My secondary choice would be Sununu / Nikki Haley.

Hogan is someone I like, but he's had some serious health issues in his recent past, and I do not know if those are resolved. Update: just saw him do an interview. Definitely appears he is considering a run.

Outgoing Arkansas governor, Asa Hutchinson, is another individual who I find formidable, but he is already 73 years of age.

My cousins have been complaining about the same thing.

Do you think it's possible any of those are used to obtain an extra ballots?

There is a central database that catches double voting. Now that we have absentee voting without reason, the duplicate fail safe is more robust.

I vote without ID every time, and the state election office has an effective check system. This does slow the certification process.

I think we need to split each major party into 2. Real Republicans and MAGA Republicans. Real Democrats and Progressive Democrats, or Socialist Democrats, which ever one fits best. Then let each party put up their best and we go from there.

I highly doubt that works across state lines at all. I doubt it works very well within the state either. After all Benson is lazy, she told clerks to bypass signature requirements two years ago.

We more of less had had absentee without a reason. Just show up and ask for a ballot, fill out a form, walk out with ballot, easy peasy.

You sound like an expert on yet another topic that you have very little access to the facts. How do you support your opinion with facts?

Benson is lazy? Our SOS has so many innovations due to COVID. I can now do just about anything online now.

You should already know that county clerk's (most of whom are Republican) run elections. They are governed by the SOS and the non-partisan Board of State Canvassers.

So place blame to any problem with the "lazy" Republican county clerks. I think you're wrong, the system works well, given it's dysfunctional design.

Sorry I thought such a moronic response was a joke.
Lets see....what would the city clerk do with such a semi anonymous call? Take them off the registry based on me dropping a dime?
I bought the house in 1994 from a med school resident moving on. How many people a year once connected to the University move on from Ann Arbor? Grad students, undergrad students, temporary positions?
There could could thousands or tens of or hundreds of thousands of "registered" voters who no longer live in the state since my anecdotal experience can't be isolated . Do you think my phone call, again semi-anonymous, is going to be some sort of light bulb moment for the city clerk?
What needs to happen is there should be an automatic purge every 5 years. If somebody hasn't voted a single time in their designated precinct for 5 years they should be purged from the registry.
If they haven't actually moved away then they need to re-register.
And because my idea of humor is evidently a bit obtuse for you I never actually intend to try to use those votes.
