Good point. Kent County also voted for Biden two years ago, voted for Whitmer four years ago, and I believe voted for Obama in 2012.

I cannot recall if Clinton or Trump got more votes there in 2016.

The blue tide in Oakland County is even more significant, however. Look at the county commission races, for example. The Dems will have a nearly 2 to 1 majority now.

Edit: Trump won Kent County by 2.9 points in 2016.

As someone who spent the first 18 years in Oakland county, it isn't the land of L Brooks Patterson anymore.

And that is why it is safer to drive in Oakland county now

Whitmer beat Dixon by more than 22 points in Oakland County:

That is a truly stunning margin of victory.

Whitmer also won by 10 points in Kent County and by 5 points in Macomb County.
Oakland county is basically blue now… college educated folks are really going Democratic and the blue collar folks are gone the other way. That trend appears to be permanent.

MSNBC projects that Republicans will take the House.

NY Times predicted it last night.

Laxalt in Nevada just had his odds go up dramatically. This may well come down to Georgia's runoff.

Agree.

And Trump will lose the Senate for the GOP again.

I just ditched my Oz shares at 17 cents....I think PA is going to Fetterman.
Not at all surprising. People in PA will even vote for a dead person...
Pennsylvania state representative Tony DeLuca has been reelected despite his death last month, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports.

DeLucs's death from lymphoma at the age of 85 occurred too late for changes to be made to the election ballots, or the candidate running for the district. His only challenger was Green Party candidate Zarah Livingston, over whom he had a sizable lead throughout the election. He won the seat with more than 85% of the vote.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Sadly.

The roads are much safer without L Brooks.

John James wins his Congressional race by roughly one-half of a percentage point over Marlinga, a rather stunning outcome given (a) earlier polling showing James with a far wider margin in his favor and (b) the amount of money James' campaign and groups supporting James spent on TV advertising.

The first very Marlinga TV ad I saw aired just three days before election day, and it was clearly low budget.

I think Marlinga is right that if his party brass had spent any meaningful money on his race, he might've emerged victorious.
