This is posted mostly for humor and would be in chatterbox except for the significant political nature of it.
Police on Saturday arrested a gunman at a Pennsylvania Dairy Queen dressed in a clown wig and claiming that he wanted to "kill all Democrats and liberals" and "restore Trump to president king of the United States."
According to CBS Pittsburgh, police in Delmont responded to reports that the man, identified as 61-year-old Jan Stawovy, entered the restaurant dressed in a yellow safety vest and rainbow clown wig while carrying a gun. No one was harmed, and Stawovy immediately was taken into custody.
Stawovy allegedly told police he was "working undercover," and officials later found a .40 caliber handgun and ammunition on him, as well as two additional guns and ammo in his car, according to CBS.
The Delmont Borough Police Department honored officer Gregory Stull for "his quick response to the incident" in a Facebook post Wednesday. Stawovy is awaiting a preliminary arraignment on charges of terroristic threats, carrying without a license, person not to possess/use firearms, and disorderly conduct, CBS reported.
Dairy Queen did not immediately respond to Insider's request to comment. According to CBS, there were several customers inside the restaurant at the time, and a group of individuals with intellectual disabilities walking toward the entrance as Stawovy went inside.
CBS also noted that Stawovy recently posted several Facebook posts indicating he was asked to stop attending New Stanton Assembly of God church for erratic behavior and outbursts.
In a letter allegedly sent to Stawovy and posted to Facebook on September 9, one day before the Dairy Queen incident, the church said it had become "increasingly concerned" with his behavior in recent weeks, including wearing "a clown costume and makeup" that "frightened many congregants."
