If having an abortion is not a Constitutional right, then there's nothing that says it must be "easy" to have one.
And even if you think it is a Constitutional right, don't most people of your political persuasion support all kinds of restrictions on one's Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms? And that right is explicitly spelled out in the Constitution. Or do you think that anybody who wants a gun should be able to easily obtain one?

Great points, BMW, Bryce and Matt!
As the author in one of the longest running threads in Pol Pot history (A thread on abortion), somewhere in that process it became very clear that the 1973 court pulled this decision pretty much out of thin air. As I said back then, "Where is First Trimester in the Constitution?" LOL. The 1973 cobbled arguments of the 14th amendment were along the lines of an old saying: "...baffle them with bull".
The current court is removing themselves from the process and is a win against "legislation from the bench", which I think most of us would agree is a good thing:

The local news anchors/reporters need to quit with the "Michigan overwhelming thinks abortion rights should stay", because they NEVER clarify exactly what questions folks were asked when they were polled. Did they ask "Do you support abortion rights including full-term or after-birth abortions?" ?? I doubt it.

All the polling needs to stop being reported, at least in the context of the Supreme Court. If people support abortion by a majority, then fine - lobby your Congress-person or your state reps.
What the media is doing would be akin to (and I've made this point in here before) if back when slavery was abolished, the media acted as if though that was a travesty because a majority of people still supported it. WHO CARES if people support it? Right is right, wrong is wrong, and in the case of abortion, the Constitution is the Constitution, and there is no Constitutional right to abortion.

The Ninth Amendment states, “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.” This clearly means that the rights citizens are not limited by those listed in the Constitution.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Really though, at the end of the day, there are too many scenarios where an abortion should be an acceptable response to pregnancy by darn near anyone to just blanket ban it. There is too much gray area to try and codify when it is and is not appropriate. Trying to do so would make abortion more complicated than the tax code.
