As usual, I 'make no sense' and don't pretend I own the joint, but I'd bet there are a number of multi-account holders here at the BB, and they use them to play both sides of the fence, reinforce views, or just f*ck with others... to suggest a pay-off has been made to MW really is good comedy (thanks for that!), and shows a really self-inflated view of the value, influence, and importance of one's posts - especially in PolPot - here at the BB.

If a poster's IP address accompanied every post to more than just the board owner, I'm guessing things would be drastically different here, but who cares? Very few.

This is something I never understood about the buzzboard. Rather than ignoring people who clearly have an agenda to be disruptive, users will continue to argue with a troll for what seems to be years. TCSU was here for a good 9 years!!!

To clarify, I do engage the troll and don't block anyone. Others have left/gone silent that contribute a lot to the board. That is where my annoyance lies.

Well, doesn't feeding the troll contribute to the problem? Trolls get off on the interaction. Hell, some even set themselves up to get made fun of to encourage back-and-forth.

I've noticed this anti-blocking mindset on other forums, and it confuses me. If you are aware that someone is not communicating in earnest and that their goal is to ruffle feathers, then why give them real estate on their screen? Refusing to respond to an obvious troll and blocking their posts doesn't mean they've "owned" you or something.

Others have left/gone silent that contribute a lot to the board. That is where my annoyance lies.

If you don't interact with the troll, the troll gets bored and leaves. I think you would find that the people who have left or who have gone silent were just as annoyed that other people would interact with the troll as they were annoyed with the troll himself.

Basically, when you feed the troll, you are contributing to the problem.
