Canada's Election Day Monday

Post by Turkeytop » Sun Sep 19, 2021 10:15 pm

Canadians will vote Monday. Prime Minister Trudeau called the snap election a full two years earlier than necessary in hopes of securing the parliamentary majority the voters denied him in the 2019 election. But now, on the final day of the campaign, polls show the Liberals and Conservatives running neck and neck, at about 33% each. It's apparent that no party will be elected with a majority.

I'll be working all day with the campaign to re elect our local Socialist member of parliament. Due to covid we will have to forego our victory party this time.

Because of covid, they were providing voters with small, single use pencils but they were suggesting voters could be extra cautious and bring their own pencil.

Congratulations on a insurection free election.

The US process can't seems to pull it off with the losers the Republicans seem to elect.

There have been no reports of death threats against poll workers.

Let me guess, Trudeau got 80 million votes...

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

It happens. In the last election over here, my father voted for a Democratic candidate for the first time. Of course, he's been dead for 12 years.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Congratulations, TT.

I'm guessing you've already heard where you will be celebrating for another month...

Not much to celebrate. We spent $600M to return a status quo parliament.

Yes. My wife wants to sell the place in FL. It's been sitting there unused for almost two years and we have no idea when or if we ever will be able to return.

You'll get there, eventually. Maybe when a Trump is president again.

Can fly. I used to love flying. But with all the security measures taken after 911, flying became an ordeal. Now, with the covid restrictions added to that, I'd be a cas of air rage before we even got off the ground.
