Leadership in action

Post by TC Talks » Wed Apr 28, 2021 6:33 pm

This is how we rebuild America after the Trump debacle.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden will use his first joint address to Congress to declare the nation is “turning peril into possibility, crisis into opportunity,” urging a $1.8 trillion investment in children, families and education that would fundamentally transform roles the government plays in American life.

Biden is marking his first 100 days in office as the nation emerges from a confluence of crises, making his case Wednesday night before a pared-down gathering of mask-wearing legislators because of coronavirus restrictions. The speech is taking place in a U.S. Capitol still surrounded by fencing after insurrectionists in January protesting his election stormed to the doors of the House chamber where he will speak.

In the nationally televised ritual of a president standing before Congress, Biden will lay out a sweeping proposal for universal preschool, two years of free community college, $225 billion for child care and monthly payments of at least $250 to parents. His ideas target frailties that were uncovered by the pandemic, and he will make the case that economic growth would best come from taxing the rich to help the middle class and the poor.

“I can report to the nation: America is on the move again,” Biden was set to say, according to excerpts released by the White House ahead of the speech. “Turning peril into possibility. Crisis into opportunity. Setback into strength.”

Keep being a patsy for billionaires there BMW.

Republicans like Biden more than they did Trump...
The national opinion poll of 4,423 adults from April 12-16 found that 55% approved of Biden’s performance in office, while 40% disapproved and the rest were not sure.

Biden received the highest marks for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, with 65% supporting his response. In January, 38% approved of Trump’s handling of the health crisis. Ninety-percent of Democrats, 61% of independents and 39% of Republicans said they approved of Biden’s response, the poll showed.

Haven't watched a presidential speech since Bush addressed the nation after 9-11 and haven't missed jack shit. They are all alike in that they are nothing but lip service to their voters, both sides, and fertilizer at best.

You haven't really demonstrated yourself to be a beacon of brilliance when it comes to how America moves forward.

You pretty much complain about everything so why would today be any different?

Sorry TC. But going to have to agree with this.

Saying EVERYONE means the same slackers that barely made it through high school are now guaranteed 4 years of college? Does guaranteed means you get to go take up space on the taxpayer's dime even if your IQ is single digit?

Re-read that last sentence. Don't think that may not happen. It's entitlement thinking. Don't think Big Dummy Walking isn't going to cry discrimination if he or she isn't allowed to attend college for free, no matter how functionally illiterate they may be,

Hey, it's free money. Money to burn baby.
Just keep forking it out taxpayers.

If we are adding it to the debt we aren’t ever paying back and that will be simply zeroed out at some point (yes they can do that) then the taxpayers aren’t forking out Jack shit. If only the top 1% or 5% see H*** tax increases then either 99% or 95% still aren’t forking out Jack shit.

Up until 2017, all of you individually probably gave more money to charity than Joe Biden.

2018: $4,580,437; $300,796; 6.6%
2017: $11,037,751; $1,010,762; 9.2%
2016: $396,552; $5,889; 1.5%
2015: $392,279; $6,920; 1.8%
2014: $388,844; $7,380; 1.9%
2013: $408,733; $20,523; 5.0%
2012: $385,072; $7,190; 1.9%

2009: $333,182; $4,820; 1.4%
2008: $269,256; $1,885; .7%
2007: $319,853; $995; .3%
2006: $248,459; $380; .2%
2005: $321,379; $380; .1%
2004: $234,271; $380; .2%
2003: $231,375; $260; .1%

Attacking someone for donating more to charity nearly every year for the past 20 is certainly a novel approach.

Oh, yes, you must write Joe Biden's press releases.

$195 to charity in 1998? Really?

That dropped to $120 the next year!

You scream for the wealthy to "pay their fair share," yet you give Buffoon Biden a pass when he makes $210,797 and gives charity 120 bucks. Maybe the $120 fell out of his pocket at a Goodwill and figured he wouldn't miss it much.

Wow, and a whopping 6.6% of his income went to charity in 2018! Impressive! His own Catholic Church recommends giving 5% to the church and 5% directly to the poor. Well, he's a little more than halfway there!

He's a skinflint. A miser. As greedy as all the "evil, greedy" CEO's you're always harping about.

I could make the same baseless accusation about you, but I won't because I'm a decent human being.

Also, do you really think telling me to "go away" will cause me to do so? Really? Do you also think doing a rain dance will actually cause it to rain?

I'm a person of science, facts, evidence, reality, and reason. Care to join me?
You're not a decent human being. You are a sad, pathetic troll, with much hate in her veins. You are probably an enormous failure, absolutely no loving relationship, very few if any real friends, not close to your family. So you have to express yourself on a anonymous forum like this, because it's your only real contact with other individuals since you are such a disaster of a person in real life. But you're such a spiteful being, that your comments have banned you multiple times by an administrator who virtually bans nobody. Then you continue to insist to deny who you are, which nobody on this site believes.
