Another Nut Job conservative is dead

Post by TC Talks » Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:51 pm

If I recall this guy had his own talk show for all the losers in this world. He was a unquestionable criminal who just did nothing but sit around and dream of evil ideas for conservatives to embrace. Now we won't have to worry about him.
G. Gordon Liddy, a cloak-and-dagger lawyer who masterminded dirty tricks for the White House and concocted the bungled burglary that led to the Watergate scandal and the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon in 1974, died on Tuesday in Mount Vernon, Va. He was 90.

His death, at the home of his daughter Alexandra Liddy Bourne, was confirmed by his son Thomas P. Liddy, who said that his father had Parkinson’s disease and had been in declining health.

Decades after Watergate entered the lexicon, Mr. Liddy was still an enigma in the cast of characters who fell from grace with the 37th president — to some a patriot who went silently to prison refusing to betray his comrades, to others a zealot who cashed in on bogus celebrity to become an author and syndicated talk show host.

As a leader of a White House “plumbers” unit set up to plug information leaks, and then as a strategist for the president’s re-election campaign, Mr. Liddy helped devise plots to discredit Nixon “enemies” and to disrupt the 1972 Democratic National Convention. Most were far-fetched — bizarre kidnappings, acts of sabotage, traps using prostitutes, even an assassination — and were never carried out.

You're despicable and classless.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

It's not about defending or, conversely, taking potshots. Have some fucking class, the guy JUST died.

There wasn't a need to defend G. Gordon when he was alive. He was quite capable. He was a stand up guy and a man's man. Tougher than nails and loyal to a fault.

I completely understand why he made you uncomfortable.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

He also masterminded the watergate breakin. Other than that parking ticket of an event he’s a stand up guy.

G. Gordon Liddy was just another one of Nixon’s band of henchmen, crooks, and all around bad guys. Of course Bryce and Matt are attracted to that type of nut job. “Man’s man.” BS. Just a wacko self-important clown.

Yes, he had a radio talk show.

It started as a local show on Washington DC hot talk station WJFK/106.7 (lead in: Howard Stern!) and was then syndicated by Westwood One. The show moved syndicators and by the time he retired the show had been on Radio America's lineup for a number of years.

WJFK had dropped him a long time ago and is now The Fan (sports).

IIRC,

This guy wrote in a book or an article that he was willing to be assassinated to protect Nixon. GGL was WAAAAYYYYY OUT THERE. Between him and Donald Lobsinger, I can only say no great losses.
