I suspect that this is an attempt to discourage and eventually shut down First Class Mail. It will be replaced by junk mail stuffing your mailbox daily.

If they go any slower, they'll be backing up the trucks.

This is all part of the bigger game and that is to dismantle the post office. You take something that worked reasonably well and deconstruct it. Give the excuse " See! see! it's not working anymore. Drill that into the masses heads and sell the idea that it would be so wonderful and there would so many choices! If it was sold to Amazon or Haliburton. Get the masses to believe it, use something like COVID-19 or terrorism to justify it.

Then make it happen and wonder why the cost of postage on a letter is $4.00.

Karen, you are more off target than the music library of Q105. As a private business, I was allowed to run those stations into the ground and spend the money I wanted to until I was fired. As a quasi-governmental service, USPS is controlled by Congress who sets the rules and the budgets and the lobbyists who push for lower rates and lots of perks. And this joker running the place is truly trying to grind it to a halt so his own business can take over. DeJoy has a great scam, much better than that one I tried to pull on those car dealers.

I printed postage from their website on a Monday put the box on my front porch Tuesday morning and my daughter in Lexington Ky got it Thursday. All for about 48% of what UPS and FedEx wanted.
