It's time to break the USPS monopoly
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
Your Argument is curious but could it have anything to do with The Orange blobs appointee to run The Post Office? While I don't have concrete proof, my senses tell me this is all by design. Letting things purposely fail and then saying "Oh see it doesn't work!" Let's let an Enron type enterprise run it. The Post seemed fairly efficient until Mr.Dejoy was installed by the spray tan man.

Where have you been?? The USPS has been failing for years/decades before the last administration got involved.Pinhead wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 12:16 pmYour Argument is curious but could it have anything to do with The Orange blobs appointee to run The Post Office? As noted in some other threads, some of the private entities were also having trouble delivering on time, even Amazon extended their normal "two day shipping" to four or more days. However, I would say most of the private ones were still markedly better than the USPS. With all the installed infrastructure and scaling, it should be a slam dunk for the USPS to be the fastest and lowest-cost provider out there.

Let's see....you strip all of the sorting machines out of the largest areas and think things will be back to normal? Ode to (Louis De) joy....
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

When you limit overtime and remove sorting machines your performance will suffer markedly. There is no way around that. Don’t even try.km1125 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:43 pmWhere have you been?? If you need 10 sorting machines and you have 40, does getting rid of 10 or 20 make a difference??MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:49 pmLet's see....you strip all of the sorting machines out of the largest areas and think things will be back to normal? Ode to (Louis De) joy....
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
Milking overtime to run back out to an area to deliver mail that was at the office rather than just put it in the next days' deliveries made no sense at all and should have never been allowed to happen to begin with.
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
Except that in the high volume areas that they did the removals in it DID make a difference.km1125 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 4:16 pmIf you need 10 sorting machines and you have 40, does getting rid of 10 or 20 make a difference??MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:49 pmLet's see....you strip all of the sorting machines out of the largest areas and think things will be back to normal? Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
Now we have experts in postal delivery.
Feel free to go to some third world country but piss off about dismantling our essential services here in the United States. 17 more days and this stupid nonsense will be over with.
And if the Republicans lose the Senate just think of the other socialist programs we can get enacted in under 2 years.

What monopoly? Send your stuff FedEx, UPS, or a dozen other companies that will ship your item. You're only limited by what you want to pay...
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
FedEx and UPS are currently running $24 for a letter. I used to send them all the time via FedEx. While we're talking about competition you might as well throw the internet in there. I sign documents virtually all the time without the need for any Postal Service. I'm still glad that the federal government oversees a postal service like every legitimate country on the planet.
Seriously head back to your bunker and keep building.

A) Put your shit in the envelope.
B) Address the envelope.
C) Drop off and pay for shipping.
D) Watch the magic happen.
I'm thinking even a stupid fuck like yourself should be able to accomplish the task, but please get back to me if you need further assistance.
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
It's becoming very apparent that the "Grumpy Old People", very much want to dismantle the Postal Service. I say again, I speculate this is by design, this is just a little too neat for me.

Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
As stated elsewhere there are many other ways to get mail where it needs to go and most are better at it than the USPS. Leave it be, it will fall apart on its own.
Re: It's time to break the USPS monopoly
He simply proved that there are other ways to mail things which means the USPS is not a monopoly. As far as that box goes, it is not their box, it is our box and UPS, Amazon and Fedex all leave things that fit in there in that box.
