On top of that, when the top of the ticket Republican candidate has been declared by the media to have lost to an imbecile, the Republicans picked up 7 of the 36 seats listed as leaning or likely Democrat. As we sit right now, The Democrats now hold just a 218-204 advantage in the House, with Republicans poised to pick up more seats, as they lead in 8 of the remaining 13 races.House Democrats on Wednesday will launch the delicate affair of choosing their leadership team in the next Congress, a routine exercise that’s taken on outsized significance following the party’s battering at the polls two weeks ago.
