Great News From The Democrats

Post by Bryce » Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:52 am

House Democrats on Wednesday will launch the delicate affair of choosing their leadership team in the next Congress, a routine exercise that’s taken on outsized significance following the party’s battering at the polls two weeks ago.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her top lieutenants — Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) — are all running uncontested, setting the stage for the same power lineup to return for another term after 14 years together at the helm.
Makes me look forward to 2022. With Nancy's stellar leadership, all 26 house races that were listed as toss ups by the pollsters were won by a conservative leaning candidate with a (R) after their name. Republicans also won all 26 races that were leaning Republican. On top of that, when the top of the ticket Republican candidate has been declared by the media to have lost to an imbecile, the Republicans picked up 7 of the 36 seats listed as leaning or likely Democrat. As we sit right now, The Democrats now hold just a 218-204 advantage in the House, with Republicans poised to pick up more seats, as they lead in 8 of the remaining 13 races.

You go Nancy and your group of octogenarian lieutenants. I hope you all are as successful in 2022 as you were in 2020.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

So 223-212. Not a great majority but in the house that’s not meaningful.

i don't know if anyone seen on the news. Elissa Slotkin made a statement that the next speaker shouldn't be from California or New York. That the fly-over part of the country is under-represented in congressional leadership.

Just read a story that said Pelosi may not have the votes she needs to win this thing. That would mean someone else from the Dems would have to step up to go against McCarthy.

She's got it. Not saying it's good, just that it's a done deal.

Nancy needs to go.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.
