Tell me about reality. LOL!

You're worried about Commies and you voted for Trump?

God I hope this is Trump's attack strategy.

You people? What do you mean by "you people"?
Trump supporters, conservatives, folks who pine for good old days they remember as children with little to no concept of the realities of the world at the time... whatever you would like.
Yes, the "good old days" when most Americans understood that Communism and Socialism were not desirable for this country or any other.

UP....thanks for serving our country.

One question that I never get answered by vets like yourself, is what is your reaction to Trumps constant demeaning of John McCain. He is a hero to me for his service and devotion to this country. How do rectify Trumps constant demeaning comments to this man?

You weren't directing that question at me, but IMO you can still respect someone for their service to the country but not give them a blanket pass on being an idiot or an asshole for other things they do in life. Reminds me of a truck I saw with a 'veterans' plate on it that was parked diagonally across FOUR handicapped parking spaces. Was there any justification for that, or was that person just an asshat?

McCain should get plenty of credit for his time in the military, but I don't think he, nor anyone else, should really get credit for "serving the country" just by being in Congress (or any other political position) for a length of time. Those folks are NOT doing it out of devotion for the country but mostly for power and stature and a lifetime of benefits. Term limits really should be applied to any of those elected positions.

I'll answer. I am proud and honored to be part of the same U.S. Military that produced a man like John McCain. He was the stuff of legend and his actions as a POW defined the word Heroic.

The Senator John McCain became later in life when he lost his will to fight the good fight is disappointing. But, alas, many loose the fire in the belly to fight the evil around us as we age. I just pray it doesn't happen to me.

Hoo Ahh!

Cut their pay 1% for every year of service.

As the Son of a Vietnam Veteran, I always held his service in high regard... sort of. He made a lot of errors and it's pretty well known that he got where he did in the Navy due to his father's rank. The Forrestal disaster, negligence causing damage to men and material... I want to say he wrecked more than one aircraft prior to deployment due to "hotdogging", but I'd have to look it up.

However, also due to his Father's rank, he was offered an early release by North Vietnam... which he turned down. You have to respect that.

Now... as a politician I think he sucked and was the poster child for term limits. He never should have been around when Trump came to power, and his involvement in the bogus Steele Dossier was the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

So... as far as Trump dogging him? Yeah, I don't really care. They were political rivals.

Did Trump say some dumb shit? Yeah, but he says lots of dumb shit. I really don't care as long as he DOES the things I hired him to do. McCain did some dumb shit... it turned a lot of people against him toward the end... including me.

That photo shopped picture is somewhat accurate. If someone is being butt fucked it's Putin.

Compare sanctions against Russia today vs. 2012.

Thanks for your serious response. I wasn't aware of the things you mentioned.

Just to clarify, you're a son of a Vet. Did you serve yourself? Does your dad, if he is still with us, feel the.same bout McCain?

I honestly am not trolling for a response. This has always been something that does not compute with me. In my eyes, a person who was a POW for 5 years should be revered as a patriot to this nation. I got sickened when I heard Trumps words about this man.. I understand political rivals. But why demean a person who has given so much up for his country?

My Dad and I both served. He passed in '93, but raised me in a way that I hold the views that I do.

I can safely say he would feel the same way.

I am certain you know how your dad would feel. Thanks again for your family's service to our country.

It is as someone who never served, but respect those who did, that I question.

I appreciate the sentiment Honeyman, but my service was fortunately in a peacetime military.

My Dad on the other hand... he was a Combat Medic with the 9th ID in '67. In may of that year he was confined to a full body cast and told he would never walk again after getting blown sky high during a battle somewhere in the Tay Ninh Province. He was a tough S.O.B. though and proved them wrong, although the injury left him with a lifetime of constant pain... which led to a bad case of alcoholism.

I know you guys don't want to hear this, but this is something I REALLY like about Trump is the fact that he has kept us out of war. Remember when we were going to war with NK? Never happened. Remember when we were going to war with Iran? Never happened. McCain and Bolton would have had boots on the ground immediately and you all know it.

I have two military aged children, and I have zero desire to see them fighting someone else's war. Biden will have us at war within one year.
