How did Covid 19 Become political?

Post by Turkeytop » Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:25 am

How, in the world's greatest nation, did a global pandemic become a political issue? In most of the major countries of the world it hasn't been like that. Here in Canada all of the parties have put up a united front against the disease and we're winning.

I never voted for our Conservative Premier in Ontario, Doug Ford. But he had been doing a commendable job of handling the crisis.

Likewise with our Liberal Prime Minister in Ottawa, who for sure I never voted for. He is handling it admirably.

Both of them are keeping the public informed with factual, science based information. They aren't point the finger of blame. They aren't peddling conspiracy theories and snake oil cures.

Because people like you that insist on pushing division to the forefront every day.

You aren't even from here... why exactly do you care?

Because of a self defeating response starting with terrible PR at the top.

More than half of my income comes from your country. I pay taxes on that income in your country. I own property in your country and pay taxes on that property. In normal times, I spend about half my year in your country.

That doesn't entitle me to vote, but I think it entitles me to have an opinion.

Nope, it doesn't.

No vote, no voice.

Sorry.

I have opinions about lots of countries I've never even been to Scotland Peru, Finland, Egypt - - -

Feel free to go on a Peruvian message board and ridicule their government then.

Please show me where I've ever ridiculed any government on this board.

I began this thread by asking a question. An expression of curiosity. There was no criticism or ridicule directed at anyone or at either of your political parties.

I've been a member of this board for many years and the only government I've ever criticized here is our own spineless, Liberal government.

I disagree with that last statement. Go back and read some of your older posts, maybe you don't realize you are doing it?

In fact, we actually had this very same conversation a couple/few years ago... before the data dump. You realized it then.

Hey TT,

You have one of the most important opinions on this board. Just ignore this one, he's not going to be here very long...

I'm not doing your research for you. You go back and find those alleged postings and post a link to them.

I'd ask the same about why a liberal Canadian would create a caricature account of "patriot" to be a right wing idiot...

So... why'd you do it?

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?
