Conservatives and Blacks want the same thing?

Post by audiophile » Tue Jun 16, 2020 7:25 am

This might be deep (you have been warned).

Conservatives want taxes and government regulation reduced.

Blacks want police/government to leave them alone and bother them on little things.

This is perfect intersection of the same issues. I don't think they realized they asking for the same thing!

Yet some Conservatives vote for the "tough on crime" candidate.

Yet Blacks vote for "government needs to do everything" candidate.

Both want the same - to be left alone a live their life (as long as they not infringing on someone else). Both are voting for the wrong person.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

The tough on crime strategy is rooted in racism and keeping blacks down. That’s why they don’t go Republican. They hear tough on crime and they hear “tough on us”. Blacks also tend to be socially conservative but believe the government has a role in helping people. So it’s not really a good fit at all.

Yet Whitmer is bigger than anyone at throwing the law down, locking them in own homes and killing minority jobs, many permanently. Schuette couldn't hold a candle to Whitmer's law-n-order big government BS.

Open a kids lemonade stand, the liberal government zoning officials will be the first on your doorstep to red-tag you, guaranteed.

Those are the wrong persons to be voting for too.

Many jobs have been killed permanently on a nationwide basis. You assume blacks vote Democrats because they aren’t informed apparently... what if they have looked at both sides and generally decided the Democrats work better for them much as Evangelicals have largely decided the current Republican Party is where it’s at?

The Lemonade stand thing was an anomaly. You aren’t going to get that kind of response most places.

No, it's not an anomaly. The right to grow food, a human right (IE plants and chickens is banned) by mostly by liberal governments.

Those ordinances are designed to promote curb appeal. Food crops aren’t particularly pretty and in a neighborhood setting that’s pretty important for property values and selling your house. If you have a shitty looking neighboring house you’ll get less money for yours. That’s the point of such restrictions. It’s not some sinister plot to control your life and it’s nothing new. Is there something wrong with their backyard?

This seems like another example of conservatives raising a stink for the sake of raising a stink... an extremely common issue these days.

Oh, so now you want to hurt minorities by denying them ability to raise harmless food over subjective curb appeal for your property? You are a big government NIMBY!

Yup, conservatives and blacks want the same thing: not Biden.

:rollin :rollin :rollin

BIG Government Joe isn't going to help minorities with these positions:

Reach net-zero emissions no later than 2050. On day one, Biden will sign a series of new executive orders with unprecedented reach that go well beyond the Obama-Biden Administration platform and put us on the right track. And, he will demand that Congress enacts legislation in the first year of his presidency.

Joe Biden reverses position on federal funding of abortion.

He also wants to increase refugee intake.

Biden, who formerly chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee, voted against Clarence Thomas.

Supporting tough-on-crime bills during his time in Congress.

He advocates a hike in the corporate income tax from 21 percent to 28 percent

No. I’m telling you what the rationale for that is. It’s a pretty universal ordinance present in most municipalities. Curb appeal is valued because of property values and the ability to get what you are asking for it. What’s around you factors into that too. The community has decided as a group that this is the standard they want. If they want a vegetable garden in the front they need to move somewhere that permits that. The best they could hope for is the city letting them keep it till the end of the season. But this is decades upon decades old stuff here. It’s not big government, it’s basic aesthetics.

You think these NIMBY ordinances really help minorities in deep urban environments?

Would you see the blight of brush and tall grass in the community or someone planting a garden?

Remember a garden will die with frost, so it's not permanent.

Community gardens have gone up and this is a community by community issue. They could go somewhere that allows it. What is stopping them from planting it in the back? Tall grass and brush is generally on vacant property so that argument makes no sense. We are talking about occupied property. That’s what ordinances about how tall the grass can be are for. Curb appeal, property value and aesthetics. This is all readily available information before anyone buys a house somewhere. It’s their fault for not doing some research first.
