Gregg Popovich on our shit-for-brains "President"

“It’s unbelievable,” Popovich told The Nation. “If Trump had a brain, even if it was 99 percent cynical, he would come out and say something to unify people. But he doesn’t care about bringing people together. Even now. That’s how deranged he is. It’s all about him. It’s all about what benefits him personally. It’s never about the greater good. And that’s all he’s ever been.


“It’s so clear what needs to be done,” Popovich added. “We need a president to come out and say simply that ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Just say those three words. But he won’t and he can’t. He can’t because it’s more important to him to mollify the small group of followers who validate his insanity. But it’s more than just Trump. The system has to change. I’ll do whatever I can do to help because that’s what leaders do. But he can’t do anything to put us on a positive path because he’s not a leader.”

Popovich, one of the public figures in sports who criticized Trump even before he was elected into office, has continued to share his thoughts about Trump during his presidency. Popovich served five years in the Air Force before becoming one of the greatest head coaches in the history of the NBA. He has been one of the leading advocates for social justice -- both with his words and his actions.


“He’s not just divisive. He’s a destroyer,” Popovich said. “To be in his presence makes you die. He will eat you alive for his own purposes. I’m appalled that we have a leader who can’t say ‘Black Lives Matter.’ That’s why he hides in the White House basement. He is a coward. He creates a situation and runs away like a grade-schooler.

“Actually, I think it’s best to ignore him. There is nothing he can do to make this better because of who he is: a deranged idiot.”

Well, I certainly hope the President doesn't come out and say "Black Lives Matter", as the author suggests. It's racist.

The fact of the matter is that a black male is MUCH more likely to be killed by another black male than by a police officer. A police officer is much more likely to be killed by a black male than a black male is to be killed by a police officer.

There are no protests for either. Hell, a white male is more likely to be killed by a black male than vice versa.

No protests.

Bryce - Black Lives Matter because repeatedly over centuries blacks were slaves, regarded as chained and owned animals, bought and sold, their children bought and sold after being separated from parents, they were not allowed to learn to read and write, and had to stay segregated under Jim Crow laws -

Segregated public toilets, entrances to restaurants, theaters, etc. , they were not allowed to drink from all public drinking fountains, or eat with whites at lunch counters, were not allowed to serve in the regular US military, were the targets of lynchings and the reason for cowardly hooded Ku Klux Klansmen burning giant wooden crosses. (Really? Let’s set the cross of The Prince of Peace on fire?)

Blacks couldn’t play MLBaseball, couldn’t marry a white spouse, black kids couldn’t attend school with white kids, during civil rights peaceful marches blacks were injured/killed by bullets, vicious dogs, fire hoses - not allowed to live in “white” neighborhoods, and several years ago began to be murdered unarmed - by white police officers - during routine traffic stops. With often NO legal consequences!

It certainly is obvious that large numbers of African Americans feel - as do many white cops and other whites - that Black Lives Don’t Matter in these United States.

Thus, Mr. Bryce - you see why there’s FINALLY a nationwide black AND white - explosive movement - to confirm - to the death of racism - that - BLACK LIVES MATTER.

This discriminatory treatment of American blacks among systemic institutional racism - all over the USA - for centuries - is non JudeoChristian, inhumane, unjust, and unConstitutional.

If you do not understand the justified reason for a long overdue movement known as BLACK LIVES MATTER - then it’s a good indication that you may be a dishonorable, dirty, lowlife racist.

Umm, how many of the people that are out looting, causing mayhem and shooting police officers were alive and experienced the mistreatment by the Democrat controlled south? Were any of these policies you list EVER in place in the City of Minneapolis?

Oh, I understand their mindset on this, but, until they address the fact that 94% of black victims are murdered by black assailants, and do something about it, it's hard to take them seriously. It sure seems to me that black lives only matter to them if there's a white police officer involved.

Many of the people out rioting, and looting are white. The mayhem seems opportunistic and possibly built up from being stuck inside for months and people are desperate from our current economic situation. It’s textbook social unrest conditions, it only needed a spark.
