Dr. Fauci says it is time to re-open the economy

This seems to me like quite a change of tune.

Wonder what Trump threatened him with to get Fauci to sing Trump’s tune?

It’s always been testing/tracing - according to Fauci - that would have to be in place on a massive scale in order for the US to reopen safely. AND the prelude to a city or state reopening would have to be 14 days of steady decline in new cases. A guideline which has largely not been followed by states proceeding with reopenings.

Trump. Fauci. The CDC. All of these entities take a back seat to the virus. The microbe is in the driver’s seat. Meet it’s requirements to serve as its host and it will gladly set up shop in your body. Gather. Exchange breath with an asymptomatic spreader. And Voila! In several days you’re surprised to be ill or dead. And all you did was breathe - at the grocery store, hair salon, restaurant, workplace.

Until there’s a safe and effective vaccine - massive testing and tracing are our tickets to reopening safely. Does not matter what tune Trump, Fauci, The CDC, Birx, or your mother is currently singing. Or why.

Our state is at the end of the first month of reopening in stages and our infections are going down, hospital visits and ICU beds are going down, more than 70 FREE testing sites statewide and things seem to be going well. Our governor even started our Stage 3 a week early with the warning that if numbers tick up we could pause or go back a step.

Considering that he has worked for government for virtually his entire working career (thus far a staggering 52 years), if you believe that right now he is caving to political pressure being exerted by Donald Trump, does that not also concern you that perhaps he has caved to political pressure many other times in the past and that maybe he's just more of a politician than a doctor and as such maybe not the reliable voice of science you've all made him out to be?

No, previous presidents didn’t put political pressure on their science people the way Trump does. This is a whole new ballgame. All Trump cares about is winning in November and absolutely nothing else.

Hell - even the CDC is now tainted, twisted, and untrustworthy thanks to Trump’s manipulation.

Maybe Trump threatens to expose their private lives found on their computers (porn) or the private lives of their family members (addictions). Or maybe Putin’s goons acting on Trump’s behalf visits them and threatens them with some type of unwanted exposure (outing closeted gay individuals) or something like these examples. Or maybe even death.
