There is nothing setting the number of justices at 9... it could be 3 or 90 or 900... it’s set by law. That can be changed easily if you have the votes that is. The GOP would do the exact same thing if the roles were reversed.

I will say this - I actually understand the justification behind Yang's plan of giving people money every month. The reality is that as automation increases, the gap between the rich and the poor WILL increase. Personally I'd rather see it done through incentives of some kind to employers who use people instead of robots to do certain kinds of labor.

As to the Supreme Court, I don't think increasing the number of justices would fix anything. All it would cause is a bitter partisan battle over how to go about changing it.
