I'm certainly not happy about the impact on the stock market. Just 2 weeks about, I invested some of my money into the DOW (via an ETF) - of course I sat on the sideline the entire time the market was climbing, then soon as I get in it decides to tank.

Your money worries will pale compared to trying to avoid this virus, or if infected - surviving it.

The White House just now considering asking Congress for more money to defend against the virus here.

Trump crazy late.

Worst president to be in charge of crisis like this. Even Pence would be better. Plus jackass Trump appointment heading HHS. Alex Azar. Wrong individual. No care for people. All about money for big pharma.

You know for certain, he will blame Obama.

He will blame anyone but himself. And already has.

Bologna. How many Americans have we lost on American soil?

Maybe our world-class medical facilities have helped keep these people alive.

Hua said Trump's order to limit travel to and from China to the U.S. contradicted the WHO's request to avoid travel bans:
"Just as the WHO recommended against travel restrictions, the U.S. rushed to go in the opposite way. Certainly not a gesture of goodwill," she said.

The decision by the U.S. to restrict travel to China was followed by Japan, Germany, Britain, Hong Kong, Macao, Russia, North Korea, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and others, to name a few.

We also haven’t had that many cases yet and our people are generally healthier... we lose a lot of people to the flu every year with our “world class” medicine... the death rate for this thing is only about 2.5%...

The ignorance on this board is fascinating. I realize many Trump supporters do not believe in science. Just like our mentally ill president. Instead they spread “deep state” conspiracy theories. Anything that goes wrong is due to the deep state agencies/individuals.

Bunk.

This will all change the instant they realize their lives are ending due to COVID-19. And that Trump is the “Only I can fix it!” nut case who did his usual, chaotic, blame-shift, no long-range plans, no expertise in staffing, no money set aside, no safety regulations, no science, NPD-driven BEST - to come against this highly contagious disease.

I wonder if scientific research yields an effective vaccine for COVID-19 the American anti-vaccine “deep state plot” idiots will refuse to collectively roll up their sleeve?

Maybe Rush will have expired by then - and the resulting radio silence will give conservative brains time to consider - some truth - for a change.

Nah.

In truth, we have never been less prepared for something like this. In 2018, the Trump administration fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure.

Just think - if the “He’s guilty but I won’t vote to convict/remove” republican senators - had instead done their constitutional duty and honored their oath - we wouldn’t have wacko Trump in charge during a lethal world health emergency. We’d have “not mentally ill” Mike Pence making decisions to protect America from the virus spreading throughout our land.

He would be much better than Trump in this crisis.

Ain’t Karma a bitch? Should have done your duty - US Senate.

I went to Fox News website to see what they were saying about the virus and today's market free-fall. Before I could see a story posted, they had this:

FOX NEWS POLL: Americans split over media coverage of first lady's fashion choices

This will be Trump*'s "Black Swan" event. I still maintain, as I did some months ago, he'll use it to postpone or suspend the fall elections if the outbreak is widespread AND he's well behind in polling for re-election.

I love the post above of Fox news polling Porn Wife’s selections of costumes for Trump’s India jaunt.

Typical Fox “pro-Trump first” - sans all important Trump screw-up news.

And I agree with Lester. I always said Trump will hang onto power - reelection or no reelection.

And this near pandemic is the perfect Trump logic to use.

He is mentally ill, folks. The very stable genius you elected and defend did what he was born to do: con the unsuspecting - without sympathy, without guilt, without shame. And satisfy his Narcissistic Personality Disorder urges hourly. At the expense of the US Constitution, you, your family, and our country.
