Like it or not, Trump brings TV ratings. Or as he would say, "BIG ratings. THE BIGGEST ANY PRESIDENT HAS EVER HAD."

No spots during speech. Ratings, even bigly ratings, don't matter. Anybody carrying the speech and/or the Democratic response is losing prime time money.

So does holding the government hostage over a border wall. First time for everything. Pelosi and Schumer are running circles around Trump and both are political masters... how do you suppose Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez went into Pelosi’s office 1000% against her speakership last month and came out 100% behind her an hour later? Trump couldn’t dream of being able to whip Republicans into line like that as much as he’d love to be able to brag about that...

Trump’s Approval Rating Slips To 73% Among Republican Voters U.S.

President Donald Trump’s net approval rating dropped in nearly every state last month, with the biggest dips seen in Republican majority states, according to the latest Morning Consult tracker.

Trump’s rating fell in 43 states in December, the survey, which was updated last Friday, shows, and six of the seven biggest drops from the previous month were in states that Trump won in the 2016 election.

The president’s net approval fell from November to December by 9 percent in Alaska, which Trump won in the presidential election. Trump’s rating dipped 8 percent in the same time period in Louisiana and Montana, which he also won in 2016.

I think all politicians lie. But none of them lie all the time. I would certainly agree that Trump seems to lie more than most recent Presidents. The problem is, I'm not sure because maybe he is just such a bad lier that he gets caught easier than good liers.

I might ask my liberal friends if you think liberal politicians lie too or do you just think conservative politicians lie?

During the Trump “Mexican Stand Off” - er, Shutdown - many Americans are finally noticing the textbook symptoms of his mental illness (NPD) which have always been - for them - HIDING in plain sight.

And because so many are so slow to understand what they’ve been seeing - our country is now in a heightened state of danger. Meaning YOU and your loved ones.

Because if I am an individual, group, or country seeking to harm American civilians here at home - I’m likely going to engage when and where I perceive a weak spot. A point where defences normally in place suddenly aren’t functioning. And right now during the government shutdown that’s exactly this nation’s situation. We are vulnerable as hell because there’s a mentally ill person instagating with new, higher intensity - the chaos for which he’s infamous - world wide.

General Mattis resigning, Trump’s shutdown, accidental current revelations re his campaign’s MANY contacts and sharing of polling data with Putin’s people, etc. are all recent reasons holdouts are finally hearing the alarm bells. Which have been ringing in reaction to Donald Trump’s bizarre words and actions, all along.
