Let's hope Trumpty Dumpty's SCOTUS nominee announcement does not distract from all the protest and unAmerican consequences of his disguised Muslim Ban.

Does anyone really believe the SCOTUS nominee's identity matters? Everyone already knows the person will be a right wing Tony Scalia cut out. Trump wants to "hire" hm or her to help broom the R v W decision, and make certain that nearly all future abortions (as abortion will always happen - legal or not) each result in TWO deaths: baby AND woman. (Is this the "punishment" for abortion that he has spoken of?)

The disguised Muslim Ban is a much more important topic because it's new and has worldwide consequences. Where as the SCOTUS nominee announcment is predictable.

The press shouldn't fall for the distraction. Keep The Muslim Ban front and center. The later congressional approval of the Trump SCOTUS patsey will be more worthy of gonzo wall to wall coverage than the announcement and speculation about what it portends.

Are you not aware that there is a thread on this very subject just 2 posts down? Speaking of which, is this the new talking point from the left?

Anyways, the balance of the Supreme Court has far more impact on the lives of everyday Americans than does the act of protesting. The end result of the protests will be having accomplished absolutely nothing, while seating a new Supreme Court justice will tip the balance of the Supreme Court for years to come.

I'm assuming the new justice will be Scalia-like, so actually nothing will change.

If he wanted to throw the left a bone, he could offer Merrick Garland for when Ginsburg is out.

The Muslim Ban is not a talking point of the left, Beemer. Do not trivialize its worldwide scope, reach, and consequences - signaling to humanity that the once envy-of-the-world USA - beacon of liberty - bastion of democracy - now has a twisted tyrant at the helm. Just like many other countries have had to endure when a mad man monarch, dictator, or military general came to power.

I don't know about you...but I fully expect Trump's next trick is - forever silencing his critics or threatening them into submission with expulsion or confinement. This Time of Trump will go down in the history books as an extremely dark chapter in the history of civilization. And the era that saw the once unstopable USA go from courage - to rage.
