People Fleeing Democrat Controlled Cities and States

People are fleeing Democrat controlled cities in record numbers. Illinois is losing population faster than any other state.

Unfortunately, they dont learn their lesson, and take their voting habits with them to red states.
Because of them, Texas is about to lose its freedoms and affordability.
Nashville is a blue city in a red state. A bunch of Californians flooded that city. Housing prices have reached ridiculous levels and its pushing poor people out.
I dont understand why they cant figure out it was their voting that resulted in everything they wanted to get away from.

And it’s happening under the so called leadership of mentally ill Donald Trump? Fascinating, TCSU and YMI. Perhaps you should both welcome into your neighborhoods the - as you say - poor people being pushed out. Unless of course you’re both NIMBY types.

Theres your trollass making assumptions again.
I moved into my neighborhood when it was largely poor. I liked those poor folks a hell of a lot more than the self-righteous, preachy hipsters that moved in and put up Bernie signs.
Welcome them in? Hell, I knowingly moved in among them.
Fucking asswipe.

I also happen to be one. Blue collar, hourly worker. I myself cannot afford half these cities. So when you tell me to "welcome them", you assume im some 75k+ a year professional who is out of touch. Nothing can be further from the truth. The people being pushed out are the people like myself.

Housing prices are related to two things. Demand and building regulations. My parents built as they could afford. You can't do that anymore.

"Building regulations"???

Are you kidding me?!?

Its location, location, location... followed by interest rates.

Do you really think a house in Grosse Pointe Shores is going to cost the same as one in East China Township???

Let me answer from the real world... No.

Location=demand.

Regulations have a dramatic effect on cost.

Can you install pex or must you use copper?

Minimum square footage? Yes/No

Basement required? Crawl ok? or is Post 'n beam ok? (phat chance)

Can you have a well? or pay $5000 tap-in fee?

Vinyl siding ok? or must be brick?

Manufactured housing ok?

Last time I checked, these are all pretty liberal cities.

And excessive homelessness in a lot of those places.

Don't worry, I'm sure the elitists or I mean liberals in AA are helping to assist the homeless in getting back on their feet.

Food for thought.

Hopefully Hillsdale will buy out Oberlin soon.

In Ann Arbor in the mid 1970s, "street people" were common. I knew the manager of an apartment building, who had "street people" who would come into the basement/laundry area to sleep. Every night, he would go down with a baseball bat to chase them out. A few years later, a medical student was brutally murdered by a "street person" a few blocks away. Of course, the central campus diag area has always been populated with panhandlers, street orators, and street musicians.

In Toronto, we went to a Broadway show, and the streets nearby were lined with panhandlers. We were surprised that this was occurring in a supposed Socialist utopia. You couldn't get near the shoreline past the street musicians.

Some people on this board believe extending help or charity to the homeless in America is only for white collar folks - blue collar can't do a thing to help house even one.

BS.

Remember - many homeless persons are mentally ill or suffer from the illness of addiction - with no medical treatment, or hospitals left, to treat them and keep them until they are able to care for themselves. Which in many cases may be NEVER.

On the streets they either become perps or victims - of crimes.
