Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here
I agree.....
Only thing that would’ve made thus “perfect” would have been getting the “W4” calls back from AA.
Makes no sense and so.....
Someone gonna photoshop 106.7 over the 98.7 part of the old stickers?

YES! HOLY SHIT YES! I *loved* Detroit's Wheels way back in the day! I always thought of Alice (and later 106.7 The D) as a spiritual successor to that... and now it's come full-circle... Once again i can get my hair metal on any time i need to!
Welcome back to my radio presets, old friend! This is gonna be fuckin great!

Maybe everyone is afraid of flipping to country due to the Nash stations making the format a laughing stock ?

Regrettably, Podell misspoke when he said "K.C." Wishful thinking / Freudian slip perhaps?
It is Alt 106.7's / The D's failed former PD - Casey Krukowski - who'll be doing evenings.
Hopefully he exits of his own accord soon. He is a weak air talent...has no business being on air weekdays in a top 20 market. Why not hire someone like Mike Staff or Dave Doran instead?

No, That could be done on 93.1 but no reason for another signal in Detroit for a Classic Country, 93.1 could and should jump at the chance.

As for CFCO, I would say their format is Farm instead of Country.Steve Korvette wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 5:41 pmCountry is over done in Detroit, Look how many Country stations in the Metro Detroit Area, WYCD 99.5, CJWF 95.9, WDRQ 93.1, WWWW 102.9, WSAQ 107.1 and CFCO 630/92.9 did I miss any?MrTaterSalad wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 5:35 pmIt should have been W4 Country instead of Wheelz, but whatever.
It's basically KRVN with Can-con, and temps in Celsius.
Unlike a Country station, there are abundant Weather, Commodities, News and Obituary reports.

This station sounds only a little bit like Z-Rock did. It sounds a lot like WRIF did during the early 00's.

I was hoping for an ultra-CLASSIC rock approach (late 60s thru mid 70s), to counter CSX trying to go in a modern direction with it's 80s obsession

I want to see iHeart/Wheels put many nails in Beasley's coffin! I will NEVER forgive Beasley/WCSX for canning (in chronological order) JJ, Lynne, O'Leary, Trudi, Kostan, Savelly, Rossi, and Podell...and I'll also NEVER forgive Beasley/WRIF for canning Penhallow and Drew & Mike (Yeah, I know it was Greater Media back then). I hope they go bankrupt! https://www.allaccess.com/
