It's Not Easy Being Green/5 GREAT TRAIN SONGS!
Re: It's Not Easy Being Green
True, but until it becomes mainstream it's going to be very expensive. It's gonna hit a lot of people hard.
Re: It's Not Easy Being Green
You could probably do something like this by 2060 or 2070... it’s not communist by any means... it’s not really socialist either... it’s just unrealistic... but it came from the Green Party which is even fringier than the Libertarians... I highly doubt she knows this thing backwards and forwards. I got bored reading it about 2 pages in. It just kind of repeats itself and rambles about the world ending in 10 years or something...bmw wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 3:14 pmFull text of the Green New Deal can be found here:

Elimination of all fossil fuels by 2030? This chick is nuts. Even Nancy Pelosi knows this plan is a loser. The centerpiece of the Green New Deal is a commitment to transition to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2030. The transition to clean energy is not only a visionary plan for a better world, it’s absolutely necessary to ensure we have a world at all.
Nancy Pelosi isn't all that impressed. Asked about the "Green New Deal" in an interview with Politico on Wednesday, Pelosi dropped this amazing bit of shade on it:
"It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they're for it, right?"

Folks like AOC and other progressives make it hard to be a Democrat.

Nope... that stuff does not scale.tapeisrolling wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 9:48 pmIf all the items to produce power were used the need for fossil fuels would be much less. No need for storage.
The whole change of 'my perception of the world' for a lot of folks is probably the same as felt by many at the dawn of the industrial age.

AOC - Airhead Of Congress?
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

It doesn't help that AOC is something of a media darling. The mainstream media is fawning all over her and the conservative media is more than happy to paint her as the face of the Democratic party.

I can't seem to find much information at all about the deletion of that blog post other than a lone article written by the Washington Examiner. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... al-detailsFET-500 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 9:41 amWayback Machine for the win... https://web.archive.org/web/20190207191 ... w-deal-faq
Neither she nor her staff can seem to get their stories straight about why it was deleted. I'm not buying the excuse that it was posted "in error" because as the article notes, there was at least one revision made to the post AFTER it had already been put up. I suspect she was pressured from people higher up in the Democrat party to take it down and that now she's lying about it.

MIT is allegedly making serious strides toward making fusion sustainable and affordable on a large scale.
If they succeed that will be the future of clean energy/electricity.
If they succeed solar and wind will be mostly irrelevant.

AWayWorseThanOCD didn't say anything about fusion. Just Wind and Solar.
BTW, I'm a great proponent of the efficient use of Solar Power. Why, just the other day, I turned my car around in the driveway so the ice on the front windshield would melt. And it worked,

Re: It's Not Easy Being Green
The proponents of the Green New Deal have succeeded in making Nancy Pelosi look like a pragmatic centrist.
The fact some prominent politicians are embracing this set of preposterous policy proposals is truly mind blowing. I am almost speechless.
If many in the Dem field continue to embrace the Green New Deal, the door is being flung wide open for an independent candidate to not only get into the Presidential race, but to actually have a chance of being a viable candidate!
I would love to know how the Green Party - who has always fared spectacularly poorly in any major election in the U.S. - has suddenly managed to gain such a firm grip on the Democratic Party?

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: It's Not Easy Being Green
I think we're just seeing the natural progression over time of liberalism playing out within the Democrat party. Haven't you ever noticed that no amount of change is ever enough for a liberal? They have no end-game or goal. The more they get, the more they pursue. Liberalism has no left-most bounds, and no amount of social change or increased government control will ever make these people truly happy.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 10:05 pmThe proponents of the Green New Deal have succeeded in making Nancy Pelosi look like a pragmatic centrist.

Environmental policy is just one of the many ways in which Democrats have lurched so far to the left. I theorize that social media is the root cause of the acceleration. But that is a far more complex topic for another day.
