Good guy. Rose to the highest heights of his profession from a very small town in West Virginia.

Re: Jerry West dies
How a team with the likes of Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, ex-Piston Happy Hairston, et al. can win only one NBA Championship over the course of several seasons boggles the mind. However, the Lakers have mostly been "a contenda'" ever since those late '60s-'70s teams with West carrying on the winning legacy.

And then the Knicks came along with Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and all those sharp-shooting forwards (Jerry Lucas, Bill Bradley, Dave DeBusschere). They won championships over the Lakers in 1970 and 1973.Honeyman wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 10:37 amBill Russell, Tom Heinsohn, Don Nelson, K. C.
