I have a playlist on YouTube of a bunch of Valenti Lions rants, and this one came up.
It was a reminder. We went through some lean, lean times as football fans. It was a shitty time around here anyway. I can still feel the anger. Being a Michigan fan and a Lions fan (who just came off an 0-16 season) was a lesson in futility.
Yet here we are, nearly 15 years later. While they have struggled for a couple of seasons now, MSU definitely had their share of highlights since then (including owning Michigan. Trouble with the snap indeed). Michigan had three straight B1G titles, three straight victories over OSU, and a Natty on the shelf. We've watched the Lions go from Total Puke Garbage to playing for the NFC title with a decent chance to go to the Super Bowl.
I gotta tell you, it feels good to listen to this knowing where we're at now. I never thought we would be here.
I just hope the Lions can continue the winning tomorrow.

I'm not saying I'm right with the viewpoint I have.
But rants and critiques from sports commentators that have never thrown a ball or slapped a puck kinda go in one ear and out the other.

It's a fine line. So long as you know what you're talking about, I'm okay with it. And you have to be entertaining. Just because I never picked up a guitar or drumsticks in my life doesn't mean I can't critique music (that's not fair, I do play guitar, bass and drums lol).
One of the reasons I always liked Valenti is he isn't a homer. Yes, he's an MSU slap, but he went there. I get that. When one of the teams you critique tries getting you fired, you're doing something right.
