Does this guys resume look like Spartyville will only be a steppingstone to the next gig?

It takes at least 5 years to get a program running on all cylinders, especially now the Spartan Football program is going back to rebuilding from scratch.

Maybe make Spartan football a club sport?

I like the hire should've waited until Sunday in my opinion as Michigan VS OSU was going to be all of the headlines today wasn't going to steal that thunder. Jonathan Smith was the top choice few days before the last game VS PSU, I knew that Harlon wasn't going to be named head coach at MSU he was in over his head should've named Coach D as the coach for the rest of the season in my opinion. Not saying that Mark could've done better maybe they get 6 wins, I like Harlon seems like a really nice guy he bleeds green & white.

I think 5 years is ridiculous. In 5 years your first year players are gone.
3 years should show "all cylinders" whatever the hell that means.

If so - I agree.

I will say the hire appears to be a pretty good one. I wonder what the financial terms of his contract look like? He was making nearly $5 million a year out west.

Harlon's remarks to the press were odd. Something along the lines of "If I cannot find a head coaching job, I hope Coach Smith will invite me to be part of his staff."

Who in their right mind - outside of a Division II or III school - would hire Barnett as head coach?
Yes, that is what I was referencing.

I'm assuming Barnett could get a job as a volunteer assistant at Haslett or Okemos.

Smith's deal also calls for an automatic one-year extension for every season in which he wins at least seven games; each extension also will include a $100,000 raise.
:lol :lol :lol

Not bad for a guy whose conference record this season was 5-4.

Looks like none of MSU's quarterbacks want to stick around to see what happens next:

On the bright side (for MSU fans), none of these guys were good anyway.

It'll be interesting to see if any Oregon State players enter the transfer portal.
Levitt is the only QB I am sorry to see go. Thought he might have some potential.

I am hoping this Chiles kid comes with Smith to EL. He's a dual-threat QB who is the real deal.
