Red Wings

Post by TC Talks » Wed Oct 18, 2023 10:08 pm

Tonight's game against Pittsburgh wasn't a disappointment. They almost scored during a Pitt powerplay.

They're off to a decent start.

The Wings are red hot right now. Outstanding start to the season.

Red Wings 5, Boston 4. That was Boston's first loss in regulation this season.

Detroit is 7-4-1. Still 4 points behind the Bruins in the standings.

Top 4 from each division make the conference playoff correct?

My Caps aren't doing great, but we just lost Backstrom our leading center.

Yes, 3 plus a wildcard but it's super early.

Considering they last made it in 2015-16 I’ll take a winning record and a let’s end the season now so they get there status as something…

And now Stevie is adding Patrick Kane to the mix. It's official now, they're gunning for the playoffs. Speculation is that Kane could form a potent second line with DeBrincat and Compher, which would move Rasmussen to center the third line. Of course, the team could also choose to put Kane on the top line right away with Larkin and Raymond. That would create a third line of Rasmussen-Veleno-Perron that could make some noise.

Kane apparently is getting a one-year deal, so no long-term cap problems. No dollar figure announced as yet.

Wonder what Kane will have to pay Daniel Sprong to get his #88 jersey. Kane has never worn any other number.

What is it with sports teams in this town signing former superstars who are waaaaay past their prime?

Sorry, but this signing doesn't excite me much. That said, not a bad move since it's only a one year deal for $2.75 million.

3rd best in the conference and 7th in the league ain’t bad considering where they have been for seemingly ever…

I cannot remember the last time a 4 goal lead was blown resulting in a loss or OT loss. At least the Wings picked up a point, but still.... 🤮

That lead vanished so fast. We scored four goals in 4 minutes 35 seconds and they returned the favor in a span of 5 minutes 31 seconds. I had stepped away for a snack when it was 4-0 and couldn't believe it was tied when I returned.
