That ridiculous margin swing falls squarely on the shoulders of the Pistons' incompetent head coach.
47 points in the first quarter might be a franchise record.
Pistons didn't make a single FG in the final 7:56 of the second quarter. That, too, might be a franchise record!

Pistons led 47-29 after one quarter. Still lost 131-110.
They still aren't the worst basketball team in Detroit. UDM is 0-17.
Wembanyama in town Wednesday night.
A 130-108 loss to the lowly Spurs. Rockets Friday.

Even with Cunningham unavailable, Killian Hayes managed to score only 4 points today despite getting plenty of playing time.

Hayes had six assists in only 24 minutes, feeding the likes of Ivey and Burks; i.e., feeding the hot hands.
I have to echo what I've read from numerous others -- the NBA game is becoming nearly unwatchable with its preponderance of three-point shots and lack of defense.

Becoming? The ship sailed several years ago for me. To each their own but I don't know how anyone can find it interesting with three pointer attempts left and right. I used to enjoy watching NBA Hardwood Classics on ESPN Classic (RIP) as the game used to be so much better. I guess I'll have to watch old games on YouTube.
4-37 at the halfway point of the season. If they repeat that in the second half they will set the all time worst season mark at 8-74.

The fact that this Pistons' team couldn't guard a garbage can is disturbing.

Detroit News writer Mike Curtis has come out with his midseason grades. If you remember, last year he graded against expectations, and came up with some absurdly high grades (
https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 05#p735754).
This year he's a little more realistic, with a D+ for Troy Weaver and a C- for Monty Williams, but the player grades are still a little high, with very few D's and no F's, for one of the worst teams in NBA history.

No F's for a team with 4 wins? Pass that pipe over here, man.

Curtis should be fired. He's a disgrace to sports journalism.
My grades would include Fs for Weaver, Williams, Hayes and Harris. If the recently traded players were graded, I'd have issued an F to Livers and a C- to Bagley.
Hayes scored 2 points last night despite receiving 16 minutes of floor time.

With Cunningham as a very late scratch this afternoon, the Pistons somehow managed to defeat a very good OKC Thunder team by 14 points this afternoon!
Cunningham is a bad fit with the Pistons. Their pitiful winning percentage isn't quite as pitiful when he's out of the lineup. I think they should entertain offers for him. Probably an unpopular opinion. They could get an impressive haul in return for him.
