Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
Okay, who the hell is this Malachi Flynn that's currently on his way to a 40 point night for the Pistons at Atlanta?
(Edit)
He just scored his 50th point! He took only 25 shots!!
(Edit #2)
Ah, he was one of the plethora of no-names who came from the Knicks in the Bojan trade; I should've known that...duh! With all the trades, injuries and G-Leaguers it's hard to keep track. His name is now etched in my brain.

The Pistons blew a 19 point lead in Brooklyn.
They lost 113-103.

Interestingly, Flynn is the fifth player from the first round of the 2020 NBA draft to play for the Pistons (James Wiseman, Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart, Saddiq Bey, Malachi Flynn).moldyoldie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:25 pmOkay, who the hell is this Malachi Flynn that's currently on his way to a 40 point night for the Pistons at Atlanta?

As Ron Cameron used to say—over and over and over and over, long after the deed was done—"They should have taken Haliburton!"
All along the icy wastes, there are faces smiling in the gloom.

And on their final home game of the season, the Pistons clinch their worst season in franchise history by losing to the Bulls.

...and they lost in blowout fashion to boot!
DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.

Pistons won in Dallas, even without Cunningham and Duren playing.

That's because Dallas sat its two stars. Doncic averages damn near a triple double nightly and is a legit contender for regular season MVP honors.
Ivey had another shit game, scoring only 7 points for Detroit.
Sasser led the team in scoring, with 24 points in 32 minutes...a very good night.
I'd like to see the Pistons deal Stewart and Ivey in the coming off-sesson.

The Pistons also drastically cut down the turnovers, their bugaboo the entire season.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 6:25 amThat's because Dallas sat its two stars. Doncic averages damn near a triple double nightly and is a legit contender for regular season MVP honors.

The Pistons shit the bed today against a bad Spurs team whose star (Victor W.) didn't even dress due to an ankle injury.
Troy needs to be shitcanned by this time Monday afternoon. Any continuation of his employment would be wholly unacceptable.

That clueless, paper shuffling dumbass - Troy Weaver - still has a job (for now). Unbelievable.
Tom Gores is the new William Clay Ford Sr.

Tobias Harris was a very good player in his prime, but it is perfectly clear to anyone who watched the Knicks - Sixers series that he has become or is quickly becoming a has-been.
If the Pistons were to pursue him in free agency as previously rumored, that would be a massive mistake, in my opinion.

Article is behind a paywall, but I'll link to it anyway.
Wojo is calling for Troy Weaver's immediate firing, says the front office needs to be broomed, and points out how numerous other awful teams from three to four years ago made the postseason this year (OKC, Orlando, Minnesota, Indiana) or have at least shown major improvement (Houston).
I will add that the Wizards were crap three seasons ago and are the only team among that group to rival the Pistons' crappiness this past season.
