I don't believe it! Hinch pulled Baez from the game in the second inning tonight for another base-running gaffe...an egregiously stupid and inexcusable gaffe. It's about fuckin' time! (And no big loss.)
I couldn't believe my eyes last night when Vierling tried to steal second...standing up!

(Edit)
And guess what, we win!

Hinch pulling Baez several games back lit a fire under the team's ass. Great move on Hinch's part.

I may be in the minority, but I absolutely love winning 1-0. :D

(Edit 4/19 late P.M.)
...but hate losing 3-2. :?

Hinch just has to teach Baez some of the basics again.

Today's game in Baltimore was just ridiculous.

Eduardo Rodriguez retires the first 20 batters, and the Tigers offense left everyone on base. One lousy run today.

The bullpen sucks. Baltimore's tenth inning runner on second was moved over with a bunt and scored on a wild pitch. They need to send Mason Englert down.

At least Rodriguez increased his mid-season trade value, so that Randy Smith 2.0 and his Whiz Kids can acquire some more semi-proven players to use in their analytic experiments.

Here's a revealing quote from today's Detroit News game story:
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde went to lefty reliever Keegan Akin (Western Michigan), which looked like advantage Tigers with right-handed hitters Haase and Spencer Torkelson coming up. But Hyde smartly, brazenly, issued intentional passes to both, loading the bases to get to a lefty-lefty matchup with Nick Maton.

Hinch had right-handed hitters Miguel Cabrera and Javier Baez on the bench. But, as Hinch explained after the game, Baez was held out of the lineup with a sprained middle finger on his left hand and wasn’t available.

And taking Maton out of the game would’ve meant Cabrera would’ve had to play defense in the bottom of the 10th. He hasn’t taken a single defensive rep, not even in spring training.
Another reason for Cabrera to call it quits—right now.

Agreed. He's taking up a valuable roster spot for his farewell tour. He adds nothing to the team as a player. Can't he do his farewells as a hitting coach instead?

Tigers beat Scherzer and Verlander in consecutive days. It's a good time to visit St. Louis with the Cardinals struggling and they can help themselves in the standings later in Cleveland.

Time for a 4 game losing streak.

Only keeping Cabrera for marketing his last year.
