Re: Bill Russell "Boston Celtics" dies
As a young lad watching the NBA on TV I was a Celtic fan second only to my Cincinnati Royals with Wayne Embry and Oscar Robertson.
I was team Russel over Wilt the Stilt all day long.

Re: Bill Russell "Boston Celtics" dies
When Russell was in his Celtics prime it seemed that team was on TV every Sunday afternoon on ABC's Game of the Week. Russell, Havlicek, Larry Siegfried, Sam and K.C. Jones, Don Nelson, Satch Sanders along with cigar-chomping coach Red Auerbach. Then Russell became player/head coach and ex-Piston Bailey Howell joined in the fun. If ever there was a dynasty in pro sports, that era's Celtics were the epitome.
