Why are people still posting about baseball when the season is done and real sports are on?

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Because the Lions suck ass and have zero realistic upside. That's why.

Now, they need to fire the hitting, conditioning, and pitching coaches.
In case you missed it, hitting coach is already kaput, see above. So is quality control coach, whatever that is. I'm guessing it has something to do with conditioning.

Pitching coach Fetter? Well, our pitching wasn't the problem by a long shot.
Agreed. Pitching coach is fine.

We are in the playoffs and the hot stove starts for everyone not in the playoffs. Why do the idiots on ESPN have draft day specials from March through April? It’s a baseball thing.

Why do people discuss the firings of NFL football the day after the regular season when their season is over?

Look who's pitching bottom of the 9th in a playoff game:

Robbie-Fucking-Ray. For Seattle. He just gave up a three run walk off homer on his second thrown pitch! LMAO

American League must be relatively devoid of good starting pitching this year. Robbie Ray actually was the AL's Cy Young recipient this year. :eek

His regular season WHIP was around 1.20 (good, not great), his ERA was 3.71, and opponents' B.A. was around .234, I believe.

He sure shit the bed yesterday afternoon, though!

Actually it was last year's (2021) Cy Young when he led the league in earned run average and strikeouts for the Blue Jays. It was a near-unanimous vote with 29 of 30 first place votes. Apparently WAR is now the most deciding factor.
If Verlander doesn't win this year's Cy Young, well, I give up. :smokin I suppose Cease and Ohtani are others to consider.

This was the third amazing late-game comeback in the playoffs so far, ironically the last being Seattle coming back against the Blue Jays. The first was that Cardinals bullpen meltdown against the Phillies -- and we bitch about Soto! :lol

Thanks for the correction, moldyoldie.

I misread the caption on the TV screen evidently. I *thought* it was suspicious that a guy with a 1.20 WHIP would've gotten a Cy Young award. :)

I should have done more research prior to posting.

Verlander looked horrible yesterday, for what that's worth.

It's a continuation of his notoriously poor post-season performances. In any case, post-season isn't a consideration in Cy Young voting. The man is still a horse; he'll be pitching at a high level well into his forties, especially now that he has a bionic arm after Tommy John surgery. It's something I predicted years ago.

Scherzer got lit up last week too when the Mets got bounced. Father Time is still undefeated. Both these guys are closing in on 40. Nolan Ryan was awesome at 43, but he was a freak of nature.

38 years ago today, the Tigers won the 1984 World Series in 5 games.

Game 5 of the 2022 World Series is scheduled for November 2, about three weeks from now.

I don't usually root for the Yankees or Cleveland, but a few snowy World Series games in those locations would help show how bloated the baseball postseason has become.

I am not watching an LA-NY series.

Another impressive front office hire for the Tigers:

The new boss also fired a trio of strength, conditioning and athletic training personnel yesterday:

I applaud all of these moves!!!
